I experienced it. I thought my personal

experience would enthuse others to be positive but this blog got me just 5 cents

What do you think?

Just 5 cents?  That is too little. I should think that all posts with 350 words should be paid 15 cents.

Personal experience blogs make for easier reading, unlike those how-to blog posts.

@schenge1   I just cannot understand how LB goes about rating!!

July 2, 2016 at 7:37 am

They probably based on what they think they can get from the advertisers.

The problem is that they do not have any ad now, so it is at best a guess.

If a blog gets $1 in advertising revenue, in most sites, they will retain 50 cents (for hosting and salary of the staff), and pay out 50 cents to the writers.

Here in LB, we get paid for commenting and forum participating on top of getting visitors, so they probably have to retain 30 cents for all these activities.

Even then, the upfront should be 20 cents.

Obviously if they think the blog post brings in just 50 cents in revenue, then they will give a very low upfront rate.

The problem is that nobody will know unless they have all the ads in place, and they have the time to monitor for a period of a year or more.

@schenge1  Approval is done even before a blog reaches the search engine. The other day I got approval in a matter of just 2 minutes after the blog was posted – 15 cents.

So it beats me how the system of rating works here.

I am not sure how the site rate in every blog. I hope there will be some further guidelines about it. But then, I assume it is subjective on how do they rate it. I am still observing the pattern of how much will it be given with my blog. I had just created 3 blogs and feel glad it was posted.

I am sure that you felt devastated at this point of time. Since it is not a joke to spend time writing compositions especially if the blog created is considered special. At this moment, I am just enjoying reading your posts and the rest of the LB members. Cheers!

@shevkat  – Yes. I am disappointed.

I think 5 cents is awfully low for that post. I’d expect it to earn 10-15 cents, but it may be that it was difficult to figure the focus or that your keywords weren’t well placed for SEO.

July 2, 2016 at 9:54 am

@ruby3881  The keywords Power of positive thinking and the name of the author ‘Norman Vincent Peale   are good enough for anyone to go there. They are in bold letters. I have always been writing  blogs just the way this blog has been written  and many have received 15 cents for short blogs.

As you had mentioned elsewhere you too have found it difficult to know on what basis blogs are rated.

I have messaged @support on this.

@bestwriter, that is very bad. I wrote in a blog about my own story, but they paid me .$0.400. I do not know the equivalent of this. I haven’t paid in my personal life blog.$0.05 cent, usually from

$0.350 to $ 0. $ 0.400.

July 2, 2016 at 3:16 pm

@cely It is indeed  bad.  My blogs are short and those who write long blogs get paid more which is acceptable but getting 5 cents is unheard of.

July 2, 2016 at 9:45 pm

@bestwriter I don’t want to tell you how to write but if you want honest feedback about the focus of your post and how the keywords were used, I would be happy to help. Yes, they are good keywords. Yes, using your personal experience to illustrate how you applied what you learned from the book is an excellent writing strategy. No, I don’t think the post as you wrote it is really optimized for search engines.

July 2, 2016 at 10:16 pm

@bestwriter I have experienced this. I have received 4-5 cents for some personal posts of mine which was quite disappointing. Even some other posts which were not personal in nature have received 7-8 cents. So I really don’t know how the rating works here. But now I have stopped writing personal posts. It takes the same amount of time and effort to write a personal post but such low rates are not worth it.

I had read your post, it should get 10 cents at least.

I noticed that personal blog posts doesn’t fetch good money anymore.

The problem is the keywords not the word count.

http://172.104.9.193/members/ruby3881/ is right about this.

I had once wrote a personal blog ( rant) and received 10 cent for 700 words.

Very extremely disappointed and swore that I will never write personal blogs anymore.

Am glad that I didn’t because all my How to, Why, Recipes posts are fetching 22 cents for 500  words.

The point is keywords, at least 8 of them scattered around the post content and the killer title too

July 2, 2016 at 10:57 pm

@peachpurple Though i was disappointed earlier about low rates for personal posts but in a way it’s good. Now we are paying more attention to the title and the keywords. The quality of the posts has improved.
