word count

Admin/support is working on Word count, I believe. It might take a while and I hope it won’t mess us up with all the updating that it might need to do. I think the best way to do is to write it using Microsoft Word, if you don’t have one, OpenOffice offers the same thing for FREE, or using Google Doc for now until word count implemented. It probably takes a few more minutes of your time, but it is worth it so the article won’t be short of 300 words.

@icybc I do not think this demand is unusual. Most sites have this feature. |

wow, now the blog display is really nice! When you click on “Blog” you get to see a lot of nice pictures, and you can click on the picture to read the blog! Thank you @support and the tech team. |

@nakitakona13 I assume the reason is for us not to compute the rate per words based on the rate we will get after the blog is on Live, means it got approve or maybe they change the name because it should be properly tagged or coded like that to make it appear professional instead of 642, 703 that appears to be unprofessional when you see it. You will only find yourself figuring what is that. It happened to me, though. While the site does not have that word count features I am using my WordPress account at Blogjob to composed a blog and then copy paste in here after editing. I hope the site will also include word count on forums.

Now, we have a word from @support that LiteracyBase would provide the word count facility so that it would be easy for us to determine the number of words that we are typing or encoding in this writing pad. We could be aided immediately and we are confident that we have posted a certain number of words. However, without it for the meantime the MS Word could help us for this. And I think there is also a word count application in the Web. It is up for us to search it and it would be very helpful to us. |

@bestwriter I am not sure if your first post in Bubblews with 440 characters is included space or not. Some word count tool gives you the total number of characters with or without space, but I remember reading in Bubblews, the minimum 400 characters is without space. I think it was not stated clearly. But, even if yours was 440 characters with space, it was not really short at all. Hope you have got all the posts with you, so you might be able to re-post them elsewhere. @icybc I stopped using Microsoft Word for getting the word count for my blog posts, as the formatting was off. I didn’t realize it until the post was published, as we do not have the preview function, hence I can’t do anything with the post. I suppose I can choose to have clear formatting in Word, but now I just use an online word count tool. I agree with @bestwriter, it’d be better if we have the word count functionality on the site, so we do not need to open another program. Currently I am using this online word counter: http://www.charactercountonline.com/ |

@Lee Ka I was alert about that and checked for characters without counting spaces. |

@icybc, as I am writing this comment, I am using the script made by my youngest son. I want to be helped to those among us here who are unable to determine the number of words which their post may contain for they don’t have the tool to do the counting of words they have written. @kaka135, regarding your concern of using the MS Word for your post to be submitted here, is seemed to be in different or the text format is too small for I have used it sometime. Well, you may use the program made by my son. Here’s the link: Word Count Made Easy. |

I also make use of MS Word when making blog posts. It helps in knowing how much I have wrtitten. And also it allows me to save a copy of my blogs for keepsake.
But having a built in counter woukd be nice, too, right?

@bestwriter That was really weird and unfair to you as well. Do you still have all your posts there? Perhaps you can re-post them. @jentleheart Yes, I agree with you. So, we do not need to open so many programs too. Let’s wait for the enhancement later. I am sure the team will surprise us with some good features soon! 🙂 |

They have permanently closed and not even the wayback machine has stored any of its activity. |
|
@bestwriter perhaps all is for the best. Those who continue writing to the end feel cheated. They have faith in the team, and they write without getting a single cent for months, and all they get is a sudden closure, and they lost all their articles if they did not keep a copy. |
|
@scheng1 What can one do with a 400 character post anyway. As far as I am concerned I do not need much effort to create new stuff. I did try to get what I wrote for wikinut here. There the articles ran into thousands of words. But they are still available on Google Search even if one deletes them. |
|
@scheng1 When I read what you wrote about Bubblews, I hope that does not happen to BlogJob. The admin from BlogJob seems to be a nice guy, but I used to trust Arvind as well. Hopefully BlogJob will not be the same story, as there are still many people having faith in the site and still writing blog posts there too. I still wrote in Bubblews once in a while before it closed down, though the pay rate is really low, and I saw new features and moderator too. I thought it’s going to be revived very soon, then the next thing I knew was “It is closed down!” |

@Lee Ka Even I feel the absence of Sheridan there which means he has nothing to report. It is taking quite a long time – does not augur well for the site as users will leave. |
