I had a trying time this morning when I was denied access here without any intimation from @support. All kinds of possible reasons came flooding in my mind but I could not lay my finger at any.

After a lot attempts here I am now.

Not a pleasant morning.

@bestwriter I was not able to login for longer time and I even started a thread at FB page of this site. But I was almost sure it was a maintenance job. However the site admin/support should provide this info to their members through FB page with such information.

I did the sane.  I was in psnic!  I thought I made something beyond the ydrms of the site thast caused me to be kicked out.  I sent a message on their Twitter account as well as Facebook page hoping that they would reply.  There wasnt even a post on what hqppened.  Probably there was site maintenance but probably Literacybase should also inform its members on any scheduled interruptions so the members wont be worried of what has happened.

It was an urgent site maintenance done by our tech team in order to optimize site performance.

Sorry for the inconvenience face.

Glad that’s over. I was becoming majorly worried.

@support We do appreciate that the maintenance is necessary, and sometimes of such an urgent nature that no advance warning is possible. But reassurance is crucial during such times, especially considering that the writing community has been deceived and disappointed by many other sites over the last year or two.

Please consider in future that you have both a Facebook page and Twitter account, and that even a landing page with a simple maintenance note would provide both users and their readers the information they need. I do not say this to chastise or complain, as it’s simply a fact of life.

We have dealt with so much on so many sites, and many of us have very little trust or patience left. If a site goes down and the staff are not responding, it looks bad for the site and the authors who share our links for content published here. If it happens too often, people will simply give up and move on. The fact that so many started here mere weeks ago, is the result of another site not reliably answering the writers’ needs….

My brain works at best in the mornings and when this happened to me all kinds of possible reasons flooded my brain even wondering whether writing posts at a stretch could be the cause.

Just a request. No matter how urgent the maintenance just an alert could help

I was indeed worried when I tried four times to access LiteracyBase and received a notice that my LB’s account needed to upgrade my account is not secured. I needed to make it private. It sounds pretty good. I was suspicious that two or more crafty members are getting into the system to do their secret phishing job. Since I was not ready for this kind of activity, I didn’t respond to the request. I did for the second time by filling in the username and the password and submit.No results, no response.

I was not able to access LiteracyBase for quite a long time too, I am glad to be able to access the site now. It’s been a habit for me to check into LiteracyBase every time I turn on my computer, it’s so strange that I was not able to login this morning. What a weird feeling. 😀

Thanks @support and the technical team for fixing the issue and optimizing the site performance. Hope we’ll have a better site now! 🙂

@support I don’t have any patience left, and you had all social networks open and available you could write something at least on our Facebook. You might wrote something else than ‘Access denied’, how about ‘We are under maintenance’, or ‘brb’.

This was completely unnecessary and unfair, plus stressful, plus I personally don’t need any of this. I will stay just for the kicks and fun and see how things go till the 10th next month.

@bestwriter ‘Access denied’ would obviously put anyone under stress. I wonder why they chose to put this status instead of simply writing that the site was under maintenance.

@
Rapid Blue I agree with you this situation could have been avoided by giving prior information about site maintenance or at least they could have not used the status ‘access denied’.

@support/

thanks for giving us a solid reason for the problem that had happened today.

At least, it is working now.

Yes, I agree with the others, please sir / madam, kindly update us at FB or Twitter.

At least , don’t send us to wild thoughts, you know, disappointment.

Thank you.

@kaka135/

yeah me too, when I saw your question posted at Forumcoin, I immediately tried to access to LB too.

Yup, it is just one of those days, maintenance work, just like the escalator isn’t working and you are carrying your grocery bags, just plain disappointed and a big sigh.

Glad that everything is allright now.

Maybe LB should learn from Blogjob. Sir sheridan always notify us in advance prior maintenance work.

Cheers

I was quite worried as well.  Had quite a panic when I kept getting the weird login thing.  Thanks for telling us what happened guys.

We regret for the inconvenience, this was an unavoidable situation where we had to perform some activity.

We will try to update  all on Facebook or twitter before hand.
