Replying to blog comments
Author | Posts |
I have commented on a few blogs here but I do not see the blogger getting back with a reply. Do you think they should? And do you get back?
oh yes, definitely the author should reply. This is a MUST , a token of appreciation and a good mannerism. However, I noticed that many don’t because they weren’t NOTIFIED.
For example: When my posts had been published I didn’t know that anyone had posted any comments until I go to my posts and check them out.
The best way would be include @username before you key in your comment.
Therefore, the author would be notified through notification that someone had posted comment in your posts.
I always looked through my notifications daily but never see anyone reading or commented on my posts.
However, when I clicked to my posts, I had just realized that they DID!!!
Quickly, I replied to them and included @username

@peachpurple – There is an option for every blog to notify through email. |
@peachpurple – You can create folders for different categories. For LB too you can have a section. In Google mail there is a provision to create new labels. On the left panel where there is ‘more’ the drop down menu shows ‘new label’ |

I think that must be one of the items in the to-do list for Literacybase. if the writer does not know about the comments, he will not comment back. Even if he comments back, you will not know unless you bookmark the blog post. |
@schenge1 You can opt for email notifications |
@bestwriter that’s what I do not want. My inbox is flooded with so many emails, and I do not want anymore to flood it. |
To be honest, I cannot check my emails anymore due to volume of work too and some priority sites. I hope you will not be feeling back if you haven’t received a reply from the person you left a comment on their blogs. I missed replying on the comments of my friends here. I always appreciate the comments you leave, regardless I read it or not because it means someone read my posts and want to add information or they are trying to help me with it. I love comments. I am putting comments before but now I only read it. If you think I am not replying back to your comments, I apologize. I talking to all of my friends here. |
@schenge1 You just need to open folders for different subjects. |
@Grecy Garcia You can create a sperate folder in your inbox |
@Grecy Garcia You can have separate folders for important mails |
Oh replying to comments is a must – I think it is one of the golden rules of blogging! I don’t want to receive any more emails to be honest so I just try to visit my blog posts and see whether anybody left a comment for me to reply to. |
cessy08 I do the same but we can still miss. I too do not want to clutter my inbox, and I am seriously thinking on creating a folder for LiteracyBase. |

I have to agree with @scheng1 that email notification is not the answer. Those of us who are members here, and who realize there is no notification system on-site, should just take the extra few seconds to tag one another – especially if we wish to receive a reply. Another thing we should do is to write a comment that has some substance to it. Replying, “Thanks!” to a comment of, “Nice post,” looks spammy and could be perceived as cheating. It also messes with the SEO of a post if there are too many comments that don’t make any mention at all of the subject matter. |
