I have been looking at the home page of LiteracyBase and I see the same faces under ‘popular members’ since time immemorial (lol) I see some faces there  that are hardly active here.

It’s time @support updates this section.   What say?

What is the basis for being a popular member? Is it a lot of activity, posts, or the number of visitors you have gotten? I always wonder when I am on the home page how they got to be the popular members. Now that you have asked I am anxious to know the answer.

Let’s hope @support gets here and clarifies this for us.

@bestwriter I suspect that at least in part, it is an automated process that is included with the website theme. It places a great deal of weight on how many other users the individual has friended. I don’t put much stock in it.

I suspect the popular posts algorithm is more reliable, though even there I have to wonder why it never seems to change much.

@ruby3881 In that list I definitely know there is someone who is nowhere to be seen. So I am curious to know why they feature in that list.

@bestwriter I agree with you that there are 2-3 faces on the list (I don’t wish to name them!) but they are hardly active on the site. I have never seen them on the forums or not even read any blog posts by them. I agree with you that it’s high time that the list is updated.

@shaloo walia  Thank you.

@bestwriter That’s a good question.

I always thought that section is updated automatically according to some calculation, but I didn’t realize some members are actually not active at all. I wonder what the differences are between active members and popular members. Perhaps popular members get more points from others, and active members have more posts in forums or blogs?

I saw my name is still displayed in active members section, and I do not think I should be there since I have not been logging into the system for almost a week. I have not been active at all for a week!

Very nice of those reaching their dream to become popular writers. They might have many readers outside of this site.

They might have many followers or voters, or having many visitors from the different media siets.

I have noticed this label, “Popular Members”. Let me guess the bases or standard of algorithm for determining them and bringing them to be featured or belong to as PM. I would base it in my previous site I have joined. It would be the number of posts the person submitted. It would be the number of friends or connection he acquired. It would be the number of comments or reactions, he would have made. What I have mentioned they may or may be the influential factors. At least I have cited the possible gauge for popular members.

@ Lee Ka  Nice to see you here. Hope all is well with you and your little one.

This post will perhaps alert support and they might update  it.

nakitakona 13  I think they need to update it. Let’s wait and see.

If it was the number of comments and reactions, then I think @kaka135 should be listed as popular member for sure. Lol.  I don’t really pay too much attention to anything on the home page since I just jump immediately to groups or blogs to see what is new here.

@ Lee Ka  hEY! Great to see you again! How are you and how’s the baby? I hope both of you are doing fine!
