I see points being mentioned against our names. Can someone tell me what they are and whether they influence our earnings. Thanks.

I guess you are talking about points mentioned below our names during posts on forums (May be wrong) In that case, this is what I understood. What we posted can add value OR it can misguide someone. You will notice that people have option to Vote UP OR Down your comments. 1 Vote UP = +1 and 1 Vote Down = -1 Sum = +1 -1 = 0. So, if you get 1 Vote UP and 1 Vote Down, you get Net 0 Pts. So, it is sum total of what you get and varies. This is what I guess. Let me know your opinion. I would also request @support to intervene and advise on its significance. |

We have the similar discussions on other threads about the points you mentioned. It’s like reputation points. When our comment gets voted up, as it’s marked as useful to other members, we will get one point increased. When we get more points, more functionalities will be unlocked to us. I think I am able to edit my comment once I reached certain points. I have no idea if this affects our earnings, but I don’t see any relationship between them. I hope we will get to know what benefits we will have for each rank and a certain amount of points too. This is the reply from support in another thread:
You can check out the similar threads here: Are you voting up in the forum? What ranking do we have in LiteracyBase? |
@thinker I agree with you on that, though I have not really try to vote down anyone, I guess it’s like that too. Hope we will get to know more about the points, it’s interesting to know. 😀 |
You seem to be on the right track. But hardly anyone and that includes me remembers to vote here, unfortunately. Even then I want to know what purpose these points serve. |
Thanks. You have clearly explained. Now I know we can move up depending on those points. |
I am not sure if points are for anything but for gratitude among the members to show appreciation to others. I mean, I think of them like that. |
@bestwriter I tend to vote up forum threads and replies as I read through them. I don’t always get all of them, but I try to show my appreciation for all the worthy remarks. If it helps fellow users to increase their rank, I think it is a kindness we can all try to remember to extend. After all, nobody will do it for us if we can’t be bothered for anyone else. |
I agree with @ruby3881 . I actually always remember to vote up whenever I found that reply is useful and positive too. I guess it’s a habit of mine after joining Facebook. I do not simply click on Like button, but I usually Like any status or comment whenever I think it’s good, positive, useful or meaningful, just to show my appreciation. But I also try not to “spam” the voting system here, though I’d definitely like to vote everyone up. 😛 |
@kaka135 has the staff given any indication on when we should and shouldn’t vote? I wouldn’t want anyone to spam the system either, but I get the impression it’s intended as an indication of whose forum content people are paying attention to and appreciating. We may not always reply to every person, but I like to vote up even if I’m not responding directly. I want to show that person’s content was valuable to me. |
@ruby3881 Nope, I haven’t read anything by support about this yet. In fact, it seems like there is not much rule about the site or forum, except we can’t post our affiliate or referral links here. I agree with you that I might not reply to everyone as well, but also vote up to show my appreciation. Perhaps it would be good for @support to tell us if there’s any rule for voting, I do not think we can figure this out ourselves. Thanks. 🙂 |
@ruby3881 I notice you doing that so religiously. I too must get into that habit. So here I go you get a vote (lol) |
@bestwriter I am hoping that this is what the staff intended us to do: vote up when we find a comment has added to the conversation! 😀 |
@Rapid Blue @Lee Ka has clearly explained why we need points. They qualify us to go the next level that get us more benefits. |
@Ruby3883 It is similar to like and unlike I guess |
