Author Posts

@ Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881)  Of the six posts I submitted yesterday, four of them received 0.05, one got 0.07 and one got 0.12 cents. All these posts were between 300-350 words. So I have every reason to believe that rates have gone down. Though I am doing better than last month but then I am also submitting more posts for publishing.

Let us all avoid posting rants here. There is no war in words in this site. Even us, we do not ,like to read posts that relate about anger. We all like to read interesting posts. Though there is also reason to discover why a writer rants, but moderators here are very sensitive and have high regard to parents’ love.

@shaloo walia, it is not easy to reach $10 a month here unless do overtime. If we are going to multiply our published post here times 50, most probably, we are near $100 in BJ rate.So sad, BlogJob gone and may be gone forever.

@lovern/

it is indeed so sad that BJ is keeping quiet all this while.

I hope that it is not gone yet because we are all pinning our hopes on it.

That is the best site I had been. $100 in 3 months equals to 5 months at LiteracyBase.

Anyway, I agree that we should cut don on ranting here.

Maybe admin doesn’t like it.

I won’ t be ranting anymore.

I will rant on forums instead!!!

@swalia/

yup I agree that the rate had gone down from your earnings.

It used to be 15 cents for 300 words post but now it had cut down to 5 cents!

Mine also dropped.

Now I have to write 3 posts in order to earn 44 cents!

Phew! Sigh!

Sob! Sob!

@peachpurple  I think @support should make an update about the current blog post rates and put an end to the confusion. Any change in rates or policies should be conveyed to the members.

@ cely  I know the pay rates are low here as compared to BJ but still I am grateful for this opportunity. BJ is gone and I doubt if it will make a comeback. So at least we have literacybase where we can write and earn.

@peachpurple, I thought ranting with proofs would be acceptable by the panel moderators here, plus this is a blog site, so we can blog about some ill-feelings, but how come freedom to do it is paid less. Let us just abide. I am also thankful for the experienced you had and shared here so we can also avoid ranting in a blog.

June 19, 2016 at 7:55 am

@peachpurple, That is true, our posts that are published here already equivalent to a handsome dollar in BJ. I hope BJ operates next month. Yes, let us from now on avoid blogging with rants.

@shaloo walia, You got the point there, and be thankful there is another blog site BJ look alike hehehe, and we surely earn and learn another style from here.

@swalia I have no doubt that your earnings have gone down, and also no doubt mine have gone up slightly. I do think it’s related to what kind of content the staff are looking for. Although I can see they still favour longer posts, length is not the only factor.

I’m not publishing enough posts here to get a clear picture of what is being rewarded exactly – except to say that a post that combines two hot topics (Facebook and the US election) earned me the highest amount I’ve had for any post here.

I may try writing some shorter posts to see what happens. I wonder if even the shorter ones will earn well for me now?

June 19, 2016 at 8:26 am

@lovern It depends a lot on what people mean when they suggest publishing a “rant.” Strongly negative content is actually quite hot right now – negative titles perform better than the same title restated as a positive. And there are some writers and TV personalities who are known mostly for their rants. Canada’s Rick Mercer comes immediately to mind. He is hugely successful, mainly because of his political rants.

@swalia I agree with you about BlogJob. I don’t expect it to make a comeback, in large part because of a lack of transparency about how much traffic they need in order to be sustainable once more.

More transparency wouldn’t hurt here, either. Because there was never any statement as to what we would earn per post there really isn’t any obligation for LB to announce a change to how it awards upfront pay for posts. I do think it would be in everyone’s best interests if there were more transparency on this subject, and I’d invite @support or @admin to perhaps make a brief list of the things they consider in assigning the pay.

It can be tough to explain, but I do think if they could state what parts of the post are being rated (body text, formatting, use of headings, images, title, SEO, etc.) and which factors they weigh the most heavily.

@ruby3881, That might be the reason why the site moderators did not publish my post entitled Human Error they might think that I am ranting there,LOL.

June 19, 2016 at 11:09 am

@Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881)  It was better when there was a set pay rate for post on the basis of word limit. There was no confusion among the members. Now the varied rates have really created a chaos. A post which is good according to me earns me less than a post which is not so good according to me. So what exactly is the criteria?

Or the personal posts/ rants can be paid a little less than the rest. Though most of the bloggers write from their personal experiences and they make for interesting read. I feel that it takes more imagination and creativity to write personal posts than informative ones. However rants are a different thing.

@support should make an update regarding the pay rates and end this confusion.

June 19, 2016 at 11:19 am

@cely  I think republished posts get lesser cash credit otherwise I see no reason in difference of pay rates to different members.

June 19, 2016 at 11:33 am

@sunil You introduce an interesting twist to the discussion: how many of the posts here are previously published? How many are still available online when they are submitted here? It could certainly be a consideration for pay rates as content isn’t unique if it’s available elsewhere.

@swalia There was never a published schedule of payments for posts here on LB – except what a few members guessed at from their earnings. I have posts from at least the end of May that don’t fit with the pay rates that were recorded in the forum posts. It’s tough for me to compare much before that, though.
