Author Posts

@sunil if you leave that site, do you still have the rights to those articles?

I think for most writing sites, once a writer deletes the profile, all the articles written by the writer will be deleted as well.

That means the writer can publish the content elsewhere.

I am glad you bring up the copyrights issue! I have stopped submitting articles to this site when I can’t find edit or delete option in my dashboard. In my thinking, without those options, I don’t own copyright to my article anymore. Am I missing something here?

I agree that if a post needs to be edited, then admin should return it to the writer and ask them to edit it themselves if they want to be published. It feels kind of like a violation for sure if your post is being changed without your knowledge.

I am hoping that this issue will be clear up soon.

@scheng1 I have left the site in the sense I am not working there but my account is still intact. That site is not an article writing site but it is different or kind of forum site with different other features. Review was its new topic and it was my first review so I did not have the idea about site’s demands.

The right thing would be that they rejected my review and made a note to me but what they did they published it with a note that your review does not meet the guideline therefore rejected and you will not be paid for it.

My question is if it did not meet the guideline why publish it! And the worst thing you created a new category of items “Rejected Reviews”. I did not want to go into a dispute so I said nothing but deleted my review myself.

@icybc That is valid point.

@support please take a look at the concern raised in @icybc comment.  I think that is a valid concern, as in who owns the copyright to the content here.

Do we get to delete our content if we want to publish it elsewhere?

Oh, I did not notice this one. If they are doing it, altering or editing posts, I would love to know first, or they need to message the person who did the blog that they need to change something. Sometimes the thought will get alter if the post will be altered and might endangers the writer because he or she is trying to say something differently and the post was edited.I also wants some enlightenment, for sure it is not done for bad purpose.

@Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881)  Kudos to you for taking up this matter and voicing your concern! I had no idea about anything like this as I have not encountered any such problem. My posts have not been edited till date. In fact, one of my posts didn’t pass the site’s plagiarism checker and the support sent me a message along with the few lines which needed revision. They asked me to submit the revised post again and published the revised post instead of editing it themselves.

@bestwriter I am also eager to know the admin’s take on this.
