@support Is there something you can do for our sis @grecy095? She just messaged to tell me she is again having difficulty logging into the site for over a day 🙁

Thanks!

I know @grecy095. I think we belong to one country. She got again a problem of not getting into this site. I suspect it is her Internet connection. You know Internet connection is too weak here in our country. Another possible issue of her problem is the cookies present in the said site she accessed. She has to clean the cache for it and for sure she will be in good running condition of her Internet job.

Grecy says she already cleared her cookies and cache, so it’s not that. Support was able to help last time. Hopefully they can do it again 🙂

@ruby3881, How’s grecy this time? Can she log here now or still not? Is there a possible explanation as to why is she having this successive problem of logging in this site?

@nakitakona134, You might be right. Let us ask Grecy if she is using a netbook or lap top.If she is using a netbook , it is very slow in opening a site and sometimes it reflects there Error!

I wonder why she is always having problems logging in. Poor thing always getting problems with the sites she is on. I hope you are feeling better @grecy. You are working too hard and not getting enough rest. You better take time to get better.

@lovern Grecy says she is feeling a bit better. Her fever has come down a bit too. It seems she is able once again to access the site, but I believe the issue is her IP address.

She explained to me that she has been blocked by other sites (presumably because many IP addresses in her block are connected to abuse.) When her address changes, I think the site owners have to whitelist her each time again. Otherwise the software that protects against spammers will lock her out 🙁

@morgoodie It’s the fault of others whose IP addresses are in the same block as hers. A significant number of abuses can get an entire block banned. Because her block is banned, she needs to be manually whitelisted. If her IP address gets reset, or if the whitelist for the site gets reset, it needs to be done again.

@ruby3881 that is a common problem in Asia.

The infrastructure is not great so a lot of computers are connecting to the same wireless connection.

I think the situation in Philippines and India are bad.

When @support bans one IP address, he is effectively banning 100 or more people from using the site.

@scheng1 you are right on that. I am not the only one getting this kind of trouble, as some of my friends from some sites are getting banned because of IP addresses and they should report their IP when the problem occurs to the support to get it whitelisted, meaning they should be cleared that they are not doing anything that could trouble the site based on their reputation working online or something like that. I always experience this on Blogjob and the owner explains this to me.

@lovern @morgoodie I am not feeling a lot of better. I have temperature of 37.8. I am still weak but I can stay up long in the computer. I still need to have some rest to get back kicking again. Thanks for your concern, I can’t hug you all because I have fever, I don’t want you to get it.

@scheng1 Even in North America, we can have problems with IP address banning. If there’s been abuse sometimes a whole block of addresses will be affected because the site owners know that with dynamic IP addresses, the abuser will have multiple addresses over time.

They can’t pinpoint the specific person or computer, in order to target the ones causing the abuse. Instead, they try to catch the violator by banning a group of addresses and hoping he’ll be blocked too. Sadly, this is how honest people end up getting blacklisted.

Obviously, it’s worse in countries where the infrastructure is not developed. That’s why so many Filipinos and Indians (among others) have issues joining some sites 🙁
