I’ve been on site before hat had different categories on them just as LB does. Did you know that LB has 37 categories to write in?

I know that sometimes I stay in one category.  I’d like to think of this challenge as “thinking outside the box.”  What do you LBers think of having a category challenge?  Some one could give us advice on how to make them SEO related.etc  What do you think?

Interesting. Must try it out.

@4cryingoutloud/

I would say that if we write one article on every category, it will bring in lots of different external traffic to LB.

However, not everyone is good at every category.

For example, I am only keen in parenting , health and food category.

Otherwise, I have no idea what to write, same as the forums

I have no idea about sports, spiritual, technology or poems

I wished that is a RANT category.

I am sure most of us are good at THAT!!

@peachpurple  Who or what will you rant about?  😀

June 15, 2016 at 8:07 am

@peachpurple, hat’s why this is a challenge!! lol  I find that even though there are certain categories I know nothing on, I do some research and maybe I do know something about it.  That’s why a lot of times we stay in our “comfort” zones in writing we just write about what we know.

@bestwriter/

oh well, rant about:

daily routine

daily household chores

daily unhappiness

daily boredom

daily rant about nobody is listening

etc….

@4cryingoutloud/

have you really tried each of the category in the list???

@peachpurple  – You think Net surfers will be interested in listening to your rant?   😀

@peachpurple, I haven’t started yet, but thought maybe @ruby3995 and @morgoodie would join in and see if this would be of interest to drawing in more writers or SEO topics!  I have on other sites though!!

I’ve done a category challenge on Persona Paper that asked us to write a post for each category. I can say in all honesty I wouldn’t want to repeat the experience here. I have nothing intelligent say about SQL servers or Oracle, much less about “Oracle DB 11g: Administration I!”

I believe I was the only person to take up the challenge on PP, where categories were broader and didn’t require any special knowledge or expertise.

Perhaps a more realistic challenge could be to try out a fixed number of categories, of the writer’s own choosing? I think it would be a much less daunting task to choose 3 or even 5 new categories, rather than to attempt them all.

BTW, we do have a group forum set up just for writing challenges, to make them easier to find:

@bestwriter/

nah…. I don’t think so either. Who would be interesting to hear my daily rant except at Mykites?

Anyway, I won’t be writing any rants post anymore.

I had decided on that.

I will focus on recipes, health and parenting posts.

@ruby3881/

I agree with you, focus on those categories that we are familiar with, would be easier to produce good seo posts.

Going through all the categories would be a challenge and a mind blobbing too

June 17, 2016 at 2:51 pm

@ruby3881 – I started that on PP remember?

June 17, 2016 at 2:59 pm

@Jo Dee Stout, Allow me to tell you that the message you sent me just vanished. I can no longer reply you. There might be a glitch.

June 17, 2016 at 3:03 pm

@3881  A correction. What I had started was to comment on all categories on any post written by others and that in one day. You are referring to @dawnwriter ‘s challenge. I do not remember completing it.

June 17, 2016 at 10:02 pm

@bestwriter Your comment challenge was a great idea! You know, maybe something like that would help get people interacting more on the posts here. But yes, it was @dawnwriter who proposed the category challenge on PP 🙂

But it should be done on one day. Wonder if it possible. I am going right there now. 🙂
