I don’t know if others were as slow to notice this as I was, but there is an option to voter up (or down) replies in a forum topic. It’s a tiny icon just under the comment, and once you’ve voted you can see a score pop up beside it.

I’m not exactly sure how it all works, but it seems we have a user score for the forum. When you post in the forum, near your rank you can also check for your score. It’s indicated in points.

So remember to vote comments up if you like them! It helps your friends 🙂

Yes, I noticed that and I always voted up once I have read the comment and found it useful and clear. This is what stated in the tooltip of the little thumbup icon. 😀

I am wondering if the point shown is the (total number of thumbups – total number of thumbdowns). Though I do not know whether it affects our ranking or pay rate, it’s always good to see more points for ourselves and others too. 🙂

So, the score shows the total number of thumbups – thumbdowns for that particular comment, am I right?

There are really more for us to explore in the site.

Yes it does seem to be a score for each comment. Though I guess at some moment, the points for all of our thumbs up get added to produce our personal score…

@Kyla It looks like that too. I think my points have just been added by one, because you voted it. Of course, I wouldn’t want to try to vote down anyone to test out the point and score. 😀

I try to vote up every time 🙂 seems to me most of the opinions have their own points, which I respect 🙂

I forgot to mention, I also like the little image displayed on the forum comment, indicating who has voted the comment. This is just nice and neat.

yes, I noticed that too, I had voted up for those comments which are truthful, useful and more than just 1 sentence.

I hope that my votes would help them

@kaka135 I think it would be rare for anyone to use the “vote down” button. If there are issues, we can report content. If not, we can either vote up or not vote at all. No need to vote down, is there really?

@peachpurple I also like to vote up a comment that is thoughtful and that has some substance to it. I wouldn’t vote for a comment that is just a few words, or that doesn’t seem to relate to the post.

@ruby3881

agree with you 100%.

No point voting up just a short sentence.

If we want to get this forum active, we gotta write more, insightful comments and opinions.

Nobody would vote down unless it is spamming

May 6, 2016 at 12:11 pm

Thanks for pointing this to me. I have voted best answers so that it helps the writer too. I think voting up every answer is not proper and it could be noted as spam. So, I voted up only those answers which helped answer the topic or added more to it.

@ruby3881 I guess vote down and report are still different. Someone might vote down a comment if he really disagrees with what he said, but it’s right for him to post that as long as it doesn’t violate the rules here. I have seen that in forum, though I would not like to show a thumb down to any comment. If I do not like it or think it is not appropriate, I will just leave it.

By the way, how do you edit your own reply here? I do not see any button for editing. I thought we can’t edit our reply here, and I’d like to find this out, as sometimes we might make a mistake or forget to add something important. 🙂

I vote up for a reply to my forum, however, lately I am not doing it since I did not expect there are lots of people will able to comment on my topics, I am grateful for them to do that. I am always voting up. I am not sure if there are points like that, but maybe for reputation points. Is that the “Point” in our profile means?

May 6, 2016 at 1:53 pm

Vote up or down is like “Like/Unlike” on Facebook ^_^
It’s indicate if you thought that comment is help full or not.

After wondering around this site i think this site applied likely the most common forum platform, so it’s easy for you to track somebody activity performances in here. Simply by looking at the info under their avatar (status, topics, reply, points, and rank).
Status will help you to noticed which one is the moderator or admin.
And if it use the same forum platform that i using on my country right now, i assumes vote up will increase your points while the vote down will damage it.
And the higher your point the higher your rank – mostly forum platform use their own range 🙂
But, I still don’t know how many rank’s range that this site provide for the members though.

@ruby3881 I think I figured out how I can edit my forum reply. I just saw the edit button on my reply, and my points have reached 10. I checked yours, and you already have 10 points too. So, I assume that when our points reach 10, we will be able to edit our forum reply. Perhaps the higher points we have, the more functionalities are unlocked to us as well.

@grecy095 I think the points shown here are like reputation points too. Where do you find the “Point” in our profile? I could not find it. I only see Name, Link, Visitors Referred, Signups Referred, and Current balance there. Yes, sometimes I also think if we should vote up every comment even if I find they are helpful when there are too many.

@haraka Thank you for your detailed explanation. That looks like it too. I also think the points might open up some functionalities to us, such as edit function. I think I get to edit my own forum reply once I have 10 points.
