Advertisements disappear
Author | Posts |
Is it only me or it happens to everyone here? The advertisements have disappeared! I hope that they will serve the advertisements soon, and they have to pay attention to the placement of the advertisements. Google has a very nice diagram to show where to place the advertisements for best result. In the language of Google Adsense, the best place is always “above the fold” right near to the top where it is the first thing that readers will see! Hope LB follows the best practice, and gets in tons of revenue to share with us.

I noticed that too. No ads means no money coming in for LB to use to pay out earnings. |

To register for a better advertising network it is essential to remove all other ad units because you can get declined. You won’t be paid out of the advertising anyways, taking in consideration a time span I think we will be paid from their own pockets. But you are welcomed to panic. It makes things so much more interesting… |
I do not panic about the lack of advertisements. I just thought that my computer has problem! It crashed three times just now, and I have to restart three times before I can use the internet. After I restart and login, the advertisements disappear. Perhaps they are just changing the format for better advertisement placement. |
I just noticed that after reading your post. I am not observant enough. 😛 @scheng1 It can be quite annoying with the computer crashes. Hope it works well for you always. 🙂 |
@kaka135 I figure out the problem! It is the stupid memory card. I have to open up the computer to resit the memory card. I think when I mopped the floor just now, I accidentally used the mop to hit the CPU which was sitting on the floor. |
@scheng1 correct me if I am wrong, you mopped your PC? How on Earth it’s not working like it should… How did it end up on a floor? Do you usually keep it there? Well, at least it is working … I still don’t see any ads on a page, so maybe it will be back up till tomorrow. Gaption had no ads but they paid just fine so no need for panic. @kaka135 I’m too tired to notice anything. Also, somebody posted a picture of a sea coast, and I thought it si pizza… |
@rapidblue I put the CPU on the floor, the same way that we put the CPU in the office. I think after it received a few kicks from my feet, plus the kick when I mopped the floor, the memory card came loose. At first I thought that I had virus in my computer when it shut down suddenly. After the third restart, and the computer gave a “beep beep beep” sound, I realized it is the memory card came loose. |
@Rapid Blue You are right. No advertisements on the site may mean that they are probably trying to get adsense approved. And of course, initially the payments to the writers may have to be paid from the pocket. Consider it as an initial start up cost. @Lee Ka Infolinks is in fact quite annoying with all its pop ups. I hope the site owners use a better ad network or better if they get adsense approved. |
It has been nice not having the pop ups at the bottom of the screen. They were annoying although I was getting used to them. I hope they get something different too and that they will not be in the way of the parts we need to read. |
What else can LiteracyBase do if anyone is complaining the wrong placement of ads. Just like what had happened before, the ads keeps on popping up from below and it sometimes covers the text of the blog or post. We will be sorry later on when we keep on complaining about the ads which the LB is placing it. Let’s respect their decision for that matter. Our task, anyway, is to write, to participate in the discussion, in the forum, among others. Should we be happy about it? LB is running without a single advertisement. |
@scheng1 Glad that you have figured out the problem, so it will not happen again. Glad that it is not virus attack too. I put my CPU on the floor too, I would prefer a bigger space on the desk. @rapidblue I understand how tiring you are now as your kid is sick. Take some good rest and remember to eat something. 🙂 @swalia I am not sure if they can get adsense approved so soon, since it’s such a new site. I have read that it needs some time to get the approval from adsense. I also read that infolinks and adsense can be displayed on the site together, as they are different kinds of ads, but I am not too sure about this, as I didn’t really study about the advertising network, I just read about it here and there. 😛 @nakitakona13 I think the team is working on a better way to bring revenue to the site, so I don’t think we need to worry about this. Though the team is considerate and always listen to our suggestions, I think the technical team is knowledgeable in finding ways to generate income for the site. They are always improving the performance and functionality of the site. 🙂 |
@kaka135 A long time ago, I had my Adsense approved very fast. I think I was very lucky. In those days, as long as you had a blog with Blogger which belonged to Google, and you stayed away from writing about making money or Adsense or posting affiliate link, you could get the Adsense account in a short time. It seems that applicants from US will get their approval faster than some countries. India has a high rate of users getting banned, so Google Adsense team seems to take a long time to process their application. |
@Lee Ka A site needs to be at least 6 months old for Indian users and some other Asian countries but this condition doesn’t apply to the rest. I don’t know who is the admin of this site and may be he is not restricted by this 6 months time limit. @scheng1 You were lucky to get adsense at the right time. Now they have become so strict with their rules and regulations especially for Indian users. |
