One website says “Site(literacybase.com) is United States based , But The Real Location Is Being Hidden ” and “The owner of the website is using a service to hide their identity”.

1.Who is the owner of literacybase? 

2.Why should he/they hide his/their identity?

3.Why should they use a service to hide their identity?

4.Which is that service that helps in hiding?

5.Why should they hide the real location of this website? What purpose does it serve?

@Rajaraman K I don’t think they are hiding anything or anyone is able to hide anything once they are online. I can see everything clearly but the name of site owner. I have a faint idea though. I have a trust in the saying “Never count the leaves as long as a tree produces fruits”.

I am not so sure if they are hiding their identity as am owner of this site. Perhaps they wanted to secure oneself from being known by people. In business context, it needs to have organizational sstructure. However, we are in an online business. It is also similar to other writing sites. They don’t reveal oneself. All it matters for me is that site pays and legit.

@Rajaraman K, it is told by site owners  they are IT professionals manning this site.My first thinking actually was, the owner of this is a blogger from Blogjob considering the platform almost cope cut from Bglojob. It is only my thinking.

@suny, There is also a site that I joined owners of it not known, but they pay bloggers. Let us just hope someday we’ll know the site owners if LB.What is important  is they pay us here.

I do not think the owner is hiding. I saw a post by a name and then signed support. That must be the owner.

Anyway it matters little who the owner is as long as there is transparency otherwise.

@raaman Anybody can look up the identity of a site owner and also obtain their address this way. For someone who works from home, this is a safety issue; it’s very common for site owners to make their names private when they register a domain name.

For the rest, the site was registered through a popular American domain registrar called GoDaddy. It is hosted on Cloudflare servers in Phoenix, Arizona.

None of this implies that the owners are in the United States, nor that they have anything to hide. My belief is the site was set to the time in India and Pakistan for a reason, so it is probable that the staff members live somewhere in that region.

@ Kyla Matton Osborne (Ruby3881) If you ever look at the time provided on your share results that will give you +5 GMT Timezone which is Maldives, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan standard time but my best guess is that this site is owned by someone in Pakistan with payment arrangements from some other country.

Although LB is stated in US but the timing looks like in Asian countries.

If you see the time stated in My History, everytime you leave your comment, the time stated is NOT USA time but Pakistan time.

@ruby3881  You are right about your findings. It is easy to do a search and get all the information that one is looking for including the name of the owner.

@peachpurple – You are right. Everything you want to know including the name of the owner can be searched for. No site will include this information in their ‘About’ and nor is it important for us to know as long as the site behaves. Look at PP there we knew how many kids the owner had in their posts but of what use was it for us? (lol)
