God the Owner Became a Borrower 2

God is King

Yes, the owner became a borrower. To confirm that God owns everything seen and unseen, The Psalmist wrote,” The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods” (Psalm 24:1) .This scripture means that God owns all creatures including the Virgin Mary, Joseph, you and me.
From the story of our text, God in humility sent Angel Gabriel-the angel of peace to beg the Virgin Mary to give (her virginity to God) for the birth of Jesus Christ. The reason why God sent the Angel Gabriel was to clear ever doubt that may arise from questions concerning the Holy Pregnancy. God allowed the Virgin Mary to exercise her volition to agree or not to agree to the heavenly request. God did not want Mary to commit suicide because if she was not informed from heaven, and the pregnancy starts developing, she in the great confusion and public disgrace may kill herself or face public ridicule. She may even be stoned to death by her people for bringing shame to her family. For Joseph, he may not trust whatever explanation The Virgin Mary will give to him. God on his part did not assert the power of His sovereignty on this situation rather in His great wisdom, God applied humility.
The angel used the greeting of humility to approach the Virgin Mary. He asserted her position before God.” And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women”(Luke 1:26)The Virgin Mary was seen as a “highly favoured”damsel recognized by Heaven. “The Lord is with thee” means that the presence of the Lord God was with her. God has been keeping the Virgin Mary for this great purpose of being the damsel whose womb will carry the “baby Jesus Christ”,as foretold by the prophet Isaiah thus,” Moreover the LORD spake again unto (King) Ahaz, saying, Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. And he(Isaiah) said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel”(Isaiah 7:10-14)According to the Angel Gabriel,The Virgin Mary is blessed among women because God created her to carry out the purpose of bringing Jesus Christ into the world, but through the Angel Gabriel ,God sought for her consent. So God does not rob us of our volition to choose what we accept or not accept with his sovereignty. God does not impose on us whatever he wills. That is why God the owner became a borrower.
