It is every gardener’s wish to have colour in their garden. Adding colour to a garden is to have flowers throughout the year and that is only possible if we go for seasonal flowers as perennials also have seasons and they lay bare until their time comes for them to bloom. Maintaining a seasonal flower garden is not easy. One has to be constantly at it and this is not always possible.
To add life to a drab garden therefore one needs to have a few garden artefacts strewn around the garden and shifted now and then to break the monotony.
There are beautiful statues available both in cement and terracotta. There are decorative pots which could be painted in colours to match the decor around. Pebbled paths, garden lights, rockeries, garden benches, these are some of the other artefacts that can brighten up gardens. The size of a garden will determine the type and number of artefacts that could be installed. One should avoid overdoing as it will only give a cluttered look.
Hedging plants shaped differently can enrich the look and for this one must know how to do it. I have seen some in shapes of animals and this however requires constant maintenance and trimming. With a bit of patience this can be achieved. Ofcourse one needs to be creative.
A water body be it a cascade, fountain or a fall can take care of barrenness in a garden
A birdbath not only enhances the look of a garden but also attracts birds and their chirps could brighten up the surroundings. A birdbath should be such that birds of all sizes can use it. A tapered birdbath will make that possible. Tiny birds are normally seen having fun at the edge of such tapered birdbaths.
Garden artefacts are permanent but need maintenance for them to last long. And this needs to be kept in mind
