In my country, strange foods are available on the streets. That’s the reason why it is well-known as street foods. For some tourists, they find weird to eat street foods. I know in other country, they do have this. If you have the chance, would you dare to try some? I am sure it takes a lot of breathing pattern before finally biting the strange food.

be careful eating it. do you have food allergies? that prevents me from trying a lot of foods. you should, if you can watch the show Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmerman.

@oksummer I am lucky that there are no potential allergens. However, I still look for my health in terms of consuming strange foods. Some of these strange foods are high cholesterol. I am not getting younger so health will be my top priority.

Did somebody accidentally report @oksummer‘s answer above? Or maybe it just had a word in it that tripped the spam filters? @support might want to check this….

My favourite “strange” food is poutine. It’s French fries in a soy-based gravy and smothered in melting cheese curds. A lot of people think the combination is really weird and disgusting, but if you grew up in Montreal you probably think this food is better than any gourmet meal you’ve ever had!

Thank you @ruby3881 I guess someone may have or meant to hit like and something else happened instead.

Ruby3881 – Great. I too do not find anything bizarre in that comment.

@shavkat  I have eaten street food but do not think it is bizarre – Bhel puri, corn on cob are examples.

@oksummer That’s what I figured, or possibly a word that registered as a “naughty” word. Sometimes even though your usage is completely appropriate, there may be other uses that are not so appropriate. The spam filters can detect all instances as if they were rude, and then a manual reset needs to be made.

@ruby3881 That’s really a strange food. For some people, wouldn’t think that cheese and soy-based gravy are not perfect combination. I agree that it is good delicacy in that particular country.

@bestwriter I do think that food you had mentioned are not bizarre. For strange foods that I can’t eat are frozen blood of a pig and grilled claws of chicken.

June 20, 2016 at 1:58 pm

@Shavkat  – Here frozen blood of pig is added in pork recipes and considered normal. As far as chicken feet go I feed my pet with them as they are great for strengthening joints. Here is a link that tells you more

@Shavkat, I never eat street foods, many landed in hospitals and the reason was street foods eating. After they ate street foods, their stomach ached terribly. The food contained poisonous bacteria. It is not advisable to eat street foods.

June 20, 2016 at 5:39 pm

@cely I heard it is not good to eat strange foods if we don’t how it was being prepared and cooked. I am adventurous person before and try things that are new. However, we can never tell what’s in the strange food.  So I will be cautious and vigilant about this.

@lovern Foodborne illness was a concern in Montreal when people wanted to bring back the street foods that had been banned there for several decades. They resolved the problem by creating a law that said all food carts had to be operated by established restaurants in accordance with food safety laws. The food is prepared in the restaurant kitchen, not in the vending truck. So there is far less chance of anyone getting sick.
