Yesterday I have decluttered and organized most of the areas in my living room, except a few small areas. Today, I decided to declutter and organize my store room, as it’s been quite messy for some time too, though the door is closed.
There are actually quite a lot of stuffs in my store room:
While I was decluttering my store room, my children were happily helping me as well. Glad that they were helping, as I found it quite tiring to go inside to the store room and take out the stuffs one by one. When we were organizing, the children were like finding treasures in the store room. They were like meeting some old friends that they have not been seeing for a year or more. I think the last time we organized the store room was about a year ago.
It’s so nice to see them finding the treasures and those treasures also surprised them, though they are something they have known about, it’s still good to discover them. They also took some of their “old friends” to their play room with my permission. Hope they will really take good care of them, and bring them back home after playing with them. Or I might go around their play room, and take away some toys that they do not usually play, if I find there are too much stuffs there. I am learning not to have TOO MUCH.
I also enjoyed the feeling of discovering as well. That’s why actually I enjoy decluttering or organizing, not only I will get to see a clean and neat place, I also like to meet some of my “old friends” that I might have forgotten. Moreover, the more I organize and declutter, the area will be more organized and neater, and more things will eventually be thrown away.
Though I enjoy cleaning and organizing, I do not wish to do these jobs over and over again. I am learning to stick to the plan, bring the things home once I have finished using them, tidy up the main area every day and the scheduled area every week, organize something new or assign a home to it immediately and discard whatever not needed. I believe with proper planning and consistently practice, I will not fall into the trap of re-organizing all the time. Moreover, now that I have got more help from my children, I know this can be done.
Do you like to declutter or organize? Do you have any plans or tips for home organizing, cleaning or decluttering?

De-clutter your home with our time- (and sanity-) saving home organization tricks. With our speedy cleaning tips, you'll get to spend more time enjoying your beautiful home than tidying it up. The more disorganized your house is, the harder it seems to muster the energy to whip it into shape. One solution
When you’re organizing, you should sort everything into five piles: move to another room, donate, give to a specific person, throw away, and, finally, the “marinating” pile. Pack up the marinating items, and label the box with a date that’s six months to a year later. If you never open the box before that date, you can safely discard those items
it can create a lot more space. Also, get that popcorn machine, bread machine and the other huge appliances off your counter. If you don’t use it every week, store it in the attic or basement and get it out only when you need it. And do you really need all those plastic containers? Most people have cabinets full of them, but they only ever use a few. Figure out which ones you really use and donate the rest.
