Finally saw my mom after 5 days.

Last week my dad went to another island to see my grand parents and help out with some things there. My grandparents are getting older and aren’t able to handle doing so many things alone. This month they were going to kill a pig and fix it up to store but in Pico Island they make a kind of festival for this. So my dad went to help out.

My mom went to see him last friday, she finally took some vacations days and went to have 5 days of rest. She didnt bring the car so i assume it was quite boring. My grandparents live in a very isolated area. Just to go to a supermarket you need to go for a 20min walk and they do not own a car. The weather there wasn’t that good either so she stayed home most of the time. At least she got some days to finally rest. She doesn’t even rest on her days of and most of them she ends up going to work.

So she came back yesterday but when i came home she was already asleep. Today i finally went home for lunch and saw her. She brought back some alcoolic drinks that they make their and some things that my grandmother offered her.

Looked like she had a good time and she is on her last day of vacation. We are hosting a little family gathering for my fathers birthday since she has the time to make the cake and get the snacks. Not many people are going. Just a small 8 people party.

I am sure that later they will tell us stories about how their trip went. The only thing i know about is their plane ride which was a bit rocky due to the windy weather. Now i am hoping she says how the rest went and that my dad tells me how the festival went also. He brought some homade sausage back home from there.
