I donated blood today. Simple as that, I feel blessed today because I have donated one bag of blood from my body. And I know my blood will save lives to its beneficiary.
North Luzon Philippines State College (NLPSC) organized this program Voluntary Blood Donation Program with the coordination of Ilocos Trainining Regional Medical Center or ITRMC—the largest government hospital in our region.
I’m just one of the hundreds people like students, government workers, police officers, soldiers among others who willingly donated a fraction of their blood.
Did I feel nervous? Yes, I think it’s just normal to feel nervous because of the pricking method. It hurts, you know. But other than this process, it went well to me.
First of the process is you need to register your name and address and some information about you. Then you need to fill-up the form that you need to write your name and some facts about you like if you have had illness, drink wine or liquor last night, had sex with someone else then putting your signature in the form.
Then, the nurses will get your body weight, body temperature and blood pressure. After that, you will go to the medical doctors to have check-up with you. Asking some questions about your health. After that, you need to line up to the area that needs to prick your finger and get your blood type. I think this is the longest part of the process. You will need to get your hemoglobin. My hemoglobin is 46 and my blood type is A.
Time to extract my blood. The line is long. I need to wait. Until my turn come. I lay down in the folding bed. They check my right hand where they need to prick the needle. Ouch, it hurts. That took me 10 to 15 minutes to lay down and let my blood flowing to the blood bag.
I feel okay while through the blood transfusion. But I saw some donors who are given first aid because they feel weak and dizzy.

What a noble thing to do. Your donated blood will save the lives. I haven't tried blood donation. However, I had received blood before from my father. His blood runs into my vein. Now that he is not with us, I still feel that he is with me always.
Wow that's good of you to have donated blood,it's a good thing it's just that there ar3 some people who are ready and willing but they cannot do it for lack of it or maybe they just don't have him blood.Like me i have always wished to donate my blood but over the years I have been anaemia and so I was not legible to donate because I didn't have enough blood. But I always salute those who donate for th3 sick it's a good course.
