As far as I can remember I only posed for photos starting with photographers asking me to say cheese and that taking hours before a black and white picture would be taken. I would have to wait for days as the photographer would take it to his ‘developing dark room’ and do some hocus pocus there. There were no phones those days and so visiting the studio until the photo was handed over would be countless times.
My cousin had a black and white camera. He did arrive one day and took a few pictures of us siblings. Those were the only ones that were handed over to us quickly.
Once married I was happy to know that my husband liked to take photos. He owned a Yashica D which was great in those days although it only took black and white pictures. We were given a lot of importance wherever we went as my husband would take his camera along and please the hosts.
It also had a timer so that even my husband could join the group for a photo.
I got interested and bought a Kodak camera meant for beginners – and that was the start.
Today I own a Sony DSC – H50 which has several features including a smile feature when taking pictures of humans.
I particularly like the zoom feature which helps me take pictures of birds in motion
Birds do not stay if we are close to them and so the zoom feature comes in handy
My camera and I are inseparable. I have enough subjects to capture in my camera with a vast garden that boasts of countless flowers, fruits and lush green ambiance not to speak of birds in all sizes and hues visiting the birdbath every single day.
Preiti my pet is another source for me try my camera on and she is a great model.
The video feature lets me taken anything and everything in action.
If I were to say so myself, I am a good photographer and some of my photos have featured in some ‘photo sites’

What a splendid photo of a rose! I just love it, Grace! You have quite a talent for photographing flowers, I think. I'm not much of a photographer and instead of the zoom feature, I prefer the macro setting. I love to take photos of parts of the flowers. I find it fascinating to really zoom in closer than close, and to see all the structures that make up those gorgeous blooms.
I loved watching the video of the birds in the bird bath. It's so relaxing to watch them hop about and hear them chirp :)
@Ruby3881 Even closeup gives equal effect as zooming. I love to use the zoom feature to capture birds in motion as they will never be there if I go close to them (lol)
Photography is a great skill, only few can get the best shot or good angle of an object.
yeah, there are lots of people who take pictures but great photographers are only a few. And I must say you are one of them @bestwriter.
That picture of a rose is so captivating. A first timer photographer with that output is so impressive.
