Children often become “bored” while being forced to stay indoors because of rain. They never seem to be able to find things to do to keep themselves occupied and content, so as a parent we have to come up with ideas for them. Sometimes, it can be a challenge to find the right idea to satisfy a single child and even more so for multiple children. Here is a list of different activities for them to play on a rainy day. You can join in on the fun as well to create happy memories for them.
RAINY DAY FUN
Build a Fort (have them gather up blankets to drape over chairs making the walls of the fort and pillows for comfortable seating inside)
Play Hide & Seek (have them hide somewhere in the house, count to 20, and then go find them)
Play School (have them gather their stuffed animals to be “students” and they can be the teacher)
Bake Cookies (a fun and delicious way to spend the afternoon together. Teach them how to read the recipe and measure out the ingredients. The bonus is eating the cookies after all the hard work.)
Have a “Tea” Party (if your child does not have a play tea set, use regular coffee cups with saucers. Use fruit juice or Kool-Aid instead of tea. You can do this after baking cookies and eat them with your “tea”)
Play Board Games or Cards (break out some of their board games to play or teach them a new card game)
Make Musical Instruments (have them search the house to find different items to use as instruments or find items from recycling to make the instruments)
Create A Band (after making the musical instruments create a band and make up a song to play and sing)
Make a Movie or Video (make a video of them playing in the band and then play it back for them to watch. Make a movie from a script they make up and then share it with family and friends)
Paint or Draw a Picture (paint a picture that can be used to decorate their room. Paint it on paper, canvas, or even cut up a cardboard box to use)
Make Greeting Cards (is there a birthday coming up for a family member or a friend? Have them create a card for them to make it more personal)
These are just some of the ideas to use to brighten up a rainy day for your child or your children. When trying to find ways to encourage the use of imagination, be as creative as possible. You will be surprised by the ideas that you come up with yourself. Already have techniques to bust boredom? Share them here.

These are great ideas to keep the kids occupied when they are confined in home due to bad weather outside. By the way, it's raining here today and it would have been a perfect day to implement one of those ideas but my son is grown up :)
Well, I guess you had all mentioned the indoor activities for kiddies not to feel bored. My little niece would not be bored if we make stories while having some drawings. She loves making up her own stories.
