Zimbabwe started their innings well but they were not able to capitalize on the good start they have in this game and kept losing wickets and only managed to score 167 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 over’s with the contributions of Grant flower who made 35 runs in 90 balls with 4 4’s and Guy Whittla who made 28 runs in 51 balls with 3 4’s.
England was required to get 168 runs in 50 over’s to win this game.
England played very well and good cricket throughout this game and finished the game and reached the target in only 38.3 over’s at the loss of only 3 wickets with G Thorpe top scored with 62 runs in 80 balls with 7 4’s and the strike rate of 77 runs in 100 balls and Nasser Hussain who made 57 runs in 93 balls with 7 4’s and strike rate of 62 runs in 100 balls.
England won the game by 7 wickets and with the brilliance of G Thorpe and N hussain with 69 balls still remaining.
Alan Mulaly was the man of the match for his 2 wickets and conceded only 16 runs in 10 over’s.
