England Beat Sri Lanka in Only T 20 played in Series,2016

Sri Lanka was scheduled to play a 1 Match T 20 International Series in England in 2016. This series was important as both teams were playing very good cricket and it would be great to witness them playing in bilateral series. The 1st and only T 20 International Match was to be played on The Rose Bowl, Southampton, England on 5th July, 2016. Sri Lanka lost the One Day International series 3-0.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how Sri Lanka team and 11 was looking like in this 1^st  and only T 20 International Match International match: Farveez Maharoof, Upul Tharanga, Angelo Mathews (c), S Lakmal, Dinesh Chandimal (wk), Nuwan Pradeep, Seekkuge Prasanna, Kusal Perera, D Gunathilaka, D Shanaka, Kusal Mendis

And England team and 11 was looking like this in this 1^st  and only T 20 International Match International match: Liam Plunkett, Eoin Morgan (c), Adil Rashid, Jos Buttler (wk), Jonny B, Jason Roy, David Willey, Chris W, M Ali, Alex Hales, Joe Root

Sri Lanka started well and aggressively but lost wickets at regular intervals and was only able to make total of 140 runs 20 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and top scored by D Guna who made 26 runs in 16 balls with 4 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 162 runs in 100 balls.

And Dinesh C who made 23 runs in 22 balls with 1 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 105 runs in 100 balls.

England was needed to score 141 runs in 20 over’s to won this 1st T 20 International Match.

England batted very well and was able to chase the target of 141 runs in only 17.3 over’s and top scored by Jos B who made 73 runs in 49 balls with 3 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 149 runs in 100 balls and Skipper E Morgan who made 47 runs in 39 balls with 1 4’s and 2 six at the strike rate of 121 runs in 100 balls.

England won the match by 8 wickets and won the series 1-0.
