The easiest way to make a delicious rainbow cake!

How many of you are extremely fond of baking? How many of you have never tried it?

Well I think it’s really simple and you can be the best and put up the best cakes with just a little effort and a little hard work. This one was definitely a wee bit time consuming.

Here’s my story.

I decided to bake a Rainbow cake for my boyfriend’s birthday and I think I did a pretty good darn job.

The ingredients I used to make rainbow cake

–          Cake Mix – Vanilla flavor (Ingredients for the cake mix are mentioned on the back of the mix box)

–          Edible Gel coloring (Any 4-5 colors of your choice)

–          Castor sugar for Icing

–          Cake butter

–          M&M’s

–          Vanilla essence

How to make rainbow cake

–          Prepare the cake batter as per the cake mix box.

–          Put into 5 different bowls of equal quantities.

–          Add in the 5 different gel colors and mix.

–          Here you can add choco-chips or crispies or even butterscotch.

–          Now comes the hard part – butter the baking trays and bake each colored mix separately.

–          Allow to cool.

–          In the meantime prepare the icing sugar. – Mix 300grams icing sugar to 200grams cake butter. Add 1 tblsp of vanilla essence and put into the freezer after mixing.

–          Once the cakes are cooled off.

–          Place each one on the top of each other as per your liking but apply a good coating of icing sugar in between each layer.

–          Once done apply the icing on the top and sides of the cake. Here you can use chocolate icing by just adding some cocoa to the icing mix.

–          Decorate with M&M’s and your good to go!

–          Refrigerate till you serve!

And that’s all it really takes to make a delicious rainbow cake!
