IPL, Indian Premier league, BPL, Bangladesh Premier league, BBL, Big Bash league, CPL, Caribbean premier league, PSL, Pakistan Super league and other respective leagues have provided many benefits to cricket, cricket players, cricket committees, cricket spectators and viewers and other concerned bodies but it has many draw backs as well.
Like players are getting more and more interested in money and money only and are not much interested in playing good and quality cricket. That has impacted the quality of cricket as well.
Also Many good batsman, bowlers, fielders, players are resigning from International cricket to play and concentrate more on these league cricket so that they can earn more money and feel less pressure of International cricket. Players like New Zealand star batsman and wicket keeper B McCullum is playing league cricket in many countries but has resigned and quited International Cricket. West Indies Star Batsman C Gayle is more and more interested in playing league cricket and not much interested to play International matches, his other country men like D J Bravo, D Smith, A Russell as well are more interested in playing the T 20 Domestic league cricket around the world and not in International cricket as they can earn more money in the league cricket and with less pressure as well.
And more great cricketers are following this path. Which is a worrying sign for International Cricket. That’s why few months back ICC has directed most boards to does not look more from the league cricket and bind your players in contract’s. And in a way, International Cricket council is trying to reduce the impact of T 20 League cricket, so that players and cricket world can have their focus back on International cricket and not on league cricket much. Despite some drawbacks these T 20 Domestic leagues have provided many immense benefits as well, like with it younger players can interact with Super stars of cricket and learn a lot many things from them, and this has surely benefited the cricket world with pool of many great players to come over in future.
