If we talk about android developments then there are many things we need to talk about. I have already explained about ROOTING and many things regarding it like advantages and disadvantages of it in my last article. Now I would love to share about another thing which is related to android rooting. I am talking about android custom ROMs. Well, it is very interesting stuff; if you are interested in this kind of android developing subject then I am sure you will love it to like me. Let me tell you more about custom ROMs, but first I will start with stock ROMs.
By default android phones comes with android version with features whatever our mobile company provides. Those android systems are not pure or come with few changes done by mobile companies. For example, Samsung is having touchwiz UI wrapped on pure android OS. Samsung is providing lot many features to users. So the android system whatever we get from our mobile company can be called Stock ROM.
Like I said above stock ROM is the android system given by mobile company itself. But sometimes you may find limited features and customization options on your phone provided by company. So we need to compromise with customization. But you know developers are always active to provide us something new and better. Some developers do changes in stock ROMs and give additional features and customization options for themselves and other. Then they put this modified android system on internet for others so that same mobile user can use this android version too. Such modified android version can be called Custom ROMs. In short Custom ROMs are android versions which are modified or newly developed by developers for providing extra features and customization options for certain phone.
I have already talked about both in detailed in above two paragraphs. We can easily find out difference between them from it. Stock ROM is the android version which is provided by the mobile company itself with limited features or more. While on other hand custom ROMs are android versions which are modified or newly developed android version for particular mobile for purpose of more customization options and features.
As I said in starting Custom ROMs are related with android rooting. I have said this because to install custom ROM on any mobile, first we need to root our phone and install custom recovery on the phone. After that only we can install custom ROM on any mobile. I will talk about installing custom ROM on my future articles.
So this is it. I hope this will clear all doubts regarding custom ROM and stock ROM. Installing custom ROM is not easy and I will provide more information regarding it with my next article. As I said it is not easy to install, so better you stay away from it if you don’t having proper information regarding same. If you have it then it is not that difficult either. You can comment here if you have any query about it.
