So we have strained relations with China over the issue of Dalai Lama in last couple of months over the issues of Arunachal Pradesh in India and other Tibet related matters. I don’t think there should be any problem for China if Dalai Lama Arrives in Arunachal Pradesh and is offered traditional hospitality or some of the monks play their traditional songs and drama or Dalai Lama escorted into the temple under a traditional ceremony.
But that’s how the things are as China has warned India to face consequences if we continue to treat him as a state guest in what China considers disputed territories. I am proud to have him in my followers list of Twitter and G+. I am not sure how many of you know that Dalai Lama the Buddhist Religious Leader from Tibet came to India and settled in McLeod Ganj, Dharmshala in Himachal Pradesh a Himalayan state of India. But that is true the 14th Dalai Lama came to India as early as in 1959 with the help of American Intelligence Agency.
Dalai Lama is presently living in McLeod Ganj for decades which is a town in Himachal Pradesh Of India is now known as Mini Lhasa where he lives with thousands of his followers from Tibet and other countries as he was granted political asylum along with fellow countrymen by government of India.
But that is an old story the twist in the story is that government of China has refused to accept him as Dalai Lama but trying to create differences between him and other Buddhist groups with the help of ‘Big2’, incidentally this big2 has nothing to do with poker game but it’s a special group of two Chinese agencies.
Chances are if you do not know about Dalai Lama you would be unaware about Padma Choling, a powerful politician and Chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China, and head of the Tibet Autonomous Region People’s Congress. He recently said that Dalai Lama has lost his status of Religious Guru of Tibetans the moment he left the country.
Padma Choling also said if Dalai Lama wishes to stay as Dharma Guru of Tibetans he will have to come back to Tibet and accept that Tibet and Taiwan are parts of People’s Republic of China. The statement is not an official statement of Chinese government but keeping in view of Padma Choling’s political status it can very well be considered as views of Chinese government.
There is another fact that shows that Dalai Lama is no more a Relegious Head of Tibetans in Chinese government’s eyes is the way three famous singers and actors Faye Wong, Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Hu Jan of China were warned against their activities during their visit to Bodh Gaya, the Buddhist town in India where Dalai Lama was also present.
Finally, I don’t see the current border issues in between India and China have any reason but only an excuse used by Chinese side to keep bullying India to stay in leading position or try to blackmail India in order to establish itself as an undisputed leader of the region.
