Crotons that add Colour to any Garden

 Crotons are plants that have colourful leaves. They come in a variety of  colours and sizes. They are perennial and grow easily with little maintenance.

Very little attention is given to crotons as they are very common  and are freely available. I always noticed that whatever is easily available loses its importance in any walk of life. I think differently. When there is no colour in the garden as sometimes one will find no flowers these crotons play that role. I have these crotons scattered all over  and for me they are as important as any other plants that are classified as exotic.

I like to place a couple of vases with flowers around the house but sometimes I do not find any flowers in my garden.I therefore cut off a branch of these crotons and place them in vases and they serve the purpose. Having something fresh around the house makes my day. It is very healthy to have something fresh inside the house every single day and crotons play that role.

There is no limit when it comes to the type of crotons one sees around. I have many different crotons in my garden and one of them has a pride of place just under my Chinese Hat bush. There are many who bend backwards to bring in exotic varieties of flowers, even importing them from other countries only to see that they do not grow unless conditions that will help them grow are artificially  created and this process is expensive and risky.

It is time gardeners shift their thinking and concentrate on creating a garden that has health and colour. And this is possible with easy to grow plants and crotons come under that category.
