Conflict: Winning Over Losing Life Situation

WINNING OVER LOSING

Certainly, every individual is going through times of conflict, but the good thing is that every conflict gives way to self-development of the person if he knows to manage it.

Situations in life may come this way, win over lose, lose over win, win over win, or worst, lose over lose.

WIN/LOSE

This is a self-seeking and selfish attitude typical of an authoritarian leader who is prone to use position power as a method of coercion to get his way.

The situation is like this: “I win, you lose. I feel good about it, you don’t. I’m the boss and you’re below me.”

To an individual, this kind of conflict may apply if he loses in a game but cannot accept losing. He may keep on insisting that he must be the winner because his opponent doesn’t deserve it.

LOSE/WIN

This is giving in situation of an individual. “I lose, you must be the winner.” Being humble despite winning position.

People with losing over win attitudes are easy to please. They have little courage to express their own feelings and convictions. They are easily intimidated by the forceful expression of other person’s win over lose attitude.

WIN/WIN

A win/win attitude of an individual where he constantly seeks mutual benefits for himself and to others.

In a group or a team, everyone wins because everyone is satisfied with the achievement. They come to uplift and respect each other and to appreciate each other.

LOSE/LOSE

An individual comes up with this situation of life when he thinks of everything he does is useless and not acceptable to others. He may also think that he is really a loser when someone wins against him. He downs himself without realizing his capacity.

Having conflict within ourselves or within a group may result to personal development if we only know how to handle it, but it may also result to destruction if we do not know how deal with it or to come up with a great idea of resolving it most especially in a lose/lose conflict in our life.

It is our choice to let those conflicts in our life affects us. Not by destiny but by choice.
