Common mistakes students make in CBSE Board Exams

Boards are inevidently considered as the most crucial period in the educational journey of a student. You’re young, prone to make mistakes and still climbing up the learning curve! Board examinations create a lot of panic and hullabaloo in the hearts of students. Some feel extremely terrified while others remain tensed. But here’s a fact which is not too hard to realise- Boards are just exams like any other exams you’ve appeared for in your life; the only difference remains that the papers are checked by some random teacher and the results are publicly disclosed.

CBSE Boards are taken up by lacks of students every year and children with a good preparation tend to do great in their exams; provided they just prevent some mistakes along their way. Here is a list of some common mistakes that students end up making in CBSE Board exams. Take a quick look to make sure you avoid them in your exams-

TIME MANAGEMENT
For students going to appear for the Boards exams, Time is equivalent to Gold! Time management can lead you to that zenith which you might not have imagined. Making a practical time-schedule for your preparations will boost your efficiency and make you realise the real worth of time.

KEEP YOUR COOL
A number of times, students become really panicked and start spending too much time thinking and overreacting. Keeping one’s cool is greatly essential for the purpose of keeping tour preparations on track. One has to take the whole vibe lightly. Boards are just exams packed and parcelled in a hyped packaging which appears to be scary, but believe us, they’re not!

CRAMMING IS IMPORTANT

Another mistake which students commonly tend to commit is to ignore those parts which require pure cramming. It’s quite understandable that the portions which do not appeal to logic might appear mundane to a student’s mind; but the council loves to interrogate students on topics which need to be ‘learnt by heart’.  Try to understand as much as you can and do not stick to the highly-prevalent practice of ‘learning-only-the-logically-coherent’ part. A little cramming won’t hurt, isn’t it!

REHEASING PAPERS

When you practice you slowly move towards overcoming all your silly errors and careless mistakes. Rehearsing previous year papers, sample papers, mock tests will give you an upper hand over others. There are numerous online portals which allow you to give rehearsal papers in addition to the hard copy resources available in the market.

WELL VERSED WITH THE FORMAT
One sure mistake to look out for is not being well-versed with the format of the paper. Every instruction, note added in the paper has to be followed. The format of the paper might change for a specific year or there might be an addition or omission in the paper’s layout. Be aware of all these nuances beforehand only!

REVISION BEFORE SUBMISSION

How you perform within the three hours of the paper matters the most. Your presence of mind, time management in the paper, style of attempting the paper etc can save you from committing costly mistakes. Make sure you revise your paper before handing it over to the examiner as it can prevent a number of silly mistakes from happening.
