Colours in my name

We have a challenge here at LiteracyBase to talk about colours in our name.

I have just 5 alphabets in my name which is

I was told  I was named after my paternal grandmother and not that anyone was excited when they got the news that I was born being the 5th girl child in the family. My grandfather in particular,  I was told did not even come to see me the day I was born. I was born early in the morning. He asked the question and went about his business. The good news is that I became the favourite of my father till I lost him when I was just 10 years old.

Little did my parents know that I was an embodiment of all those colours in my name.

Here is the story.

‘G’ – Not surprising that I have a passion for nature and its greenery.  I am a landscaped garden designer and now have our own dream house with lots of lush greenery around

‘R’ Red is the colour for energy, passion and action. I am endowed with these qualities. I am forever on the go with many passions such as cooking, wine making, photography, garden designing, reaching out and last but not the least I am told I am a romantic

‘A’ – Apricot is my favourite dry fruit. Actually I love dry fruits and there is never a day that I will miss eating them. I soak dried  apricots in sugar syrup which I can relish better than eating them dry.   I also use sun dried apricots in many of my desserts.

‘C’ Chocolate – There it goes again. I am a foodie and chocolates get a top place. Every foreign tour I have been on my main shopping has been chocolates.

‘E’ My eyes are neither brown nor black but have a tinge of ebony in it.

Although I wanted my name changed on the first day of school –  when I came to know of the various names there –  I have no regrets now.

    • I think you chose lovely and even sometimes unique colours to suit your personality and your name, @bestwriter!

I also adore dried fruit, with apricots being my all-time favourite :D

    • I love this post and the reasons why you chose those colors. My daughter's name is Grace too. I would have chose chocolate too since it is my favorite flavor and also a nice shade of brown. I would love to paint a room chocolate. Lol

    • Thanks. Now you better write a post on your daughter's name. Would love to read it.
