Christmas Entertainment Ideas that Anyone Can Do

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us and everyone is done with their Black Friday shopping, it’s time to start counting down the days until the biggest holiday of the year, Christmas. To some people this will the busiest part of their year and the most stressful time of year. It is also the time when people overspend and overindulge in things they really do not need or is that just an American thing?

What I want to talk about in this article are ways to stay entertained during this Christmas holidays. You might want to check with your area to see what is being offered first before leaving home.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating is offered in some areas/regions in either an outdoor atmosphere or sometimes as an indoor atmosphere. In my area we have one just for kids that is offered outside at the children’s museum.

Christmas Lights

This time of the year is always the best time of the year because everyone will want to decorate their home with Christmas lights and many interesting decorations for the holidays. We have a local chiropractor that loves to decorate his business in lights every year and people come from all over just to take pictures of it.

Christmas Music

Christmas music will be playing on just about every radio station in America. You will also be able to hear in most shopping malls and stores that you will visit this Christmas season. After awhile, I tend to get tired of hearing Christmas music.

Christmas Movies

There are hundreds of different kinds of Christmas movies that a person could watch either alone or with their loved ones. I know I have a few favorites that I love to watch during this time such as Home Alone, Ghostbusters, Miracle on 34th Street, Scrooged, and of course A Wonderful Life. A Wonderful Life might be an old black and white movie but it is one movie I have to watch every year around Christmas time. It’s such a great movie to watch with your kids.

Christmas Parties

Who doesn’t love going to parties? Well, having a party during Christmas is the best way to stay entertained and bringing people together. You can have a party for your family or your co-workers at work. People can bring in several different dishes or you can cater for the occasion. Who knows, Santa Claus may even show up and drop off some presents for the “good” people at the party.

    • Fill fun to make a home made ginger bread house... Great fun for family in friends.. Happy holidays everyone..

    • Tired of the same old boring Christmas parties that you dread attending? Create an event that will be something unique and keep people from checking the time as they long for the door. By putting some extra fun into your Christmas party, you can make it exciting and memorable, rather than simply obligatory.

Fun, unique Christmas party ideas can liven up the corporate event or add a special touch to a gathering among friends. Ensure that all of your guests have a great time this year.

Ugly Christmas sweaters are all the rage this holiday season, so take advantage of the trend and build it into your Christmas festivities. Ask each guest to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater and hold voting for the best in show. If you are holding a large gathering, you may want to split the voting into categories to allow for multiple winners.

For example, you could have categories such as “so ugly it’s cute,” “movie themed,” or “homemade ugliness.” Consider building a clothing drive into this theme by asking guests to bring a sweater to donate to a charity as well.

Karaoke is fun for any event and all ages. Customize it for your Christmas party with a selection of carols for your guests to sing. Take this idea to the next level with a karaoke band that provides professional live music in between your guests’ amateur performances. Christmas parties are a great time to get people out on the dance floor, and a karaoke band gives your party the ideal balance between guest karaoke,

Christmas tunes, slow songs, and the kind of music that gets everyone out of their seat. This is a great theme for parties that include guests of widely diverse ages.

    • My husband is already playing the Christmas music and when I take a moment to just chill out, I'm going to be watching “White Christmas”. We do this every holiday and we're not bored with it. But our children can't understand why. :) LOL. :)

    • @evilelf Not everybody goes to Christmas parties, but I am going to my first one with the library book club. But we will not be cooking or catering. WE are going to a restaurant in our town ad having lunch together at 10 am on December 17

    • In the Philippines, the local people celebrating the Christmas season from September to December. The preparation boggled their minds and do creativeness into doing series of events. It can be traced since the American soldiers introduced the culture to Filipinos. My fellow men cannot deny this fact since it is written in the history of our country.

    • I am already in the Christmas mood and this post added to it. We have our music on and the party that i have for for poor kids is getting organised. This time it will be for the mentally challenged. Just yesterday gifts were bought.
