Chia Seeds Facts

Hi readers! This is my first post! Let’s talk about health and diet!! The great and Amazing Chia Seed!

Chia Seeds are a great food to add to ones diet. They are small, flavorless, and full of fiber and nutrients. Great to add to smoothies and yogurt. Chia seeds absorb water, so you can stay full and hydrated with only about a teaspoon of this seed. They also have a long shelf-life of up to 5 years when stored in a cool and dry place. Here are some of the many health benefits of chia seeds.

–Chia Seeds help with blood sugar control because they are high in fiber.

–Chia Seeds help with pregnancy. Pregnant woman should include this as it is high in calcium and other minerals for the baby.

–Healthy Heart because it is low in salt and full of good for the heart fats.

–High in Omega-3 fatty acids so great way to help prevent and even treat stroke. Chia seeds can even help restore brain function.

–If you are having stomach issues or even IBS, adding chia seeds can help as with the high fiber contact and the ability to absorb water while keeping your body hydrated it can help sooth a stomach that may be having trouble and reduce inflammation.

    • I bought some chia seeds last summer and tucked them away, thinking to look up a recipe for one of those chia desserts or something. Then I forgot all about them! I really need to figure out where I hid them in the pantry, and actually try them. I'm hoping I can get the hubby & kids to eat something with chia in it too!

    • I had to check to find out what chia means and I now see they are something like 'sabja' seeds that we have here. We use them in falooda.
