Cantharis a homoeopathic remedy for UTI (Urinary Track Infection)

Urinary Track Infection is common among both men, women and even pets. Preiti my pet had problem with scanty urine. She would run in and out and when I followed her I notice there would just be a drop. Not being able to tell me what was worrying her I knew she had UTI. Scanty urine is one of the major symptoms for UTI.

I believe in homoeopathy and follow the Materia Medica religiously. It is like a bible to me. There is never a day that I do not refer to it not just for me but also for friends and family and suggest a remedy which normally works. Homoeopathy has no side effects and even if a wrong remedy is suggested the consequences would only be that it will not work. One can therefore resort to the trial and error method safely.

When my pet had symptoms I read through the Materia Medica and there were many remedies that were suggested for UTI.  One has to carefully go through the symptoms list and then check it with the remedy recomended.

Preiti only had that one symptom and she was drinking water frequently. I picked Cantharis 30   and gave her a few pellets twice a day although it is recommended that the dose has to be repeated thrice.

Giving medicines to pets is not easy. I had to open her mouth and place the pellets inside her cheeks and not on her tongue. If I placed them on her tongue she would spit it out. Anyway I was successful and in just two days I noticed she had a good flow of urine. I was happy that I had picked the right remedy

Cantharis is given for several other symptoms related to the urinary and sexual organs. The potency and the dosage differs depending on the intensity or otherwise of the disease.
