Calexit; That Would Be Unbeliveable

According to reports, one out of every three people who live in California are thinking about seceding from the United States.

Yes…

This isn’t ‘Fake News’.   This is real.

People who live in California do not want to be part of the United States with Donald Trump as the President.  And they are thinking about becoming their own country.

The last attempt for a state to leave the United States was in 1861.  This provoked the Civil War.  However, despite that last attempt,  a number of Californians want to breakaway from the Union.

The  “Calexit” movement has gone from just a hash tag trending on social media to a real campaign for California’s independence.

The first attempt will be getting signatures so as to get on the 2019 state ballot.   If this ‘referendum’ is in the favour of Calexit,  there could be a legal path to secession.

But it is very unlikely.

It is not impossible, but there is no legal process.  There could be a revolution, there could be a ‘war’, but it seems that what is going to happen, is an organisation of those who do not want to be part of Trump’s America taking various actions to have State Laws supercede Federal and tie everything up in Court for years.

Trump is not as popular as his loud mouth makes it seem.   Many people are totally against him and his policies.   They are ashamed to be associated with him, ashamed that the world is laughing at their country, finding it led by an evil clown who is there to fill his pockets.

For many years, those of us in the 3rd and 4th world have had our leaders ridiculed by America.   Our policies, our beliefs, our ideas have been slapped away.   Now, America had become the land of ridiculous.

Where our leaders, even those who do not speak English as a first language can communicate in English above High School level, Trump speaks like as six year old with a dirty diaper.

Many nations are making ‘alternative’ arrangements, that is, looking to other nations for the assistance they sought from America, looking to other nations for trade, and for educational and employment opportunities.

Many people in America are quietly looking into Canada, considering moving their businesses and families, others are searching in other parts of the world.

It is not beyond belief that mosques will be bombed, for some have been, that people taken for Muslims or Muslims will be killed, for some have been.   It is not safe to be in a country where hatred is being promoted, for who is safe?

Those in California have a state which can be an Independent nation.   It is rich, it has all the infra-structure, all the businesses it needs to survive.

The ‘Gross State Product’ is $2.496 trillion dollars.   That is more than many nations. In fact, if it were a country it would rank Eight in the world.

Although the idea of a Calexit seems not particularly possible, the idea is rather charming, and proves to the world that not every American is a racist, Islamaphobe, anti-Hispanic, or agrees with what their President expounds.
