Bringing Back the Old School to Connect With the new

Old School and the New

Remember the 90’s? That’s when music was really appreciated and there seemed be more emotions on the music scene. Old school can not be denied so it’s time that we being the old school back and a mixture of new school music. Perhaps putting more passion in song writing will help gain a broader audience. The lyrics from the 90’s was filled with care and better connection. Of course we know that we’re in the year 2016 but if artists are willing to blend the two styles together then they’ll generate their old school and new school audience which means more fans plus greater income.

Different Direction

The record sales will increase and the tickets sales will increase as well. The entertainment business shouldn’t be focused on one set audience. There’s a need to try to grab the old school audience in. It’s business. Perhaps the CEO’s of record companies will consider going in a “broader audience” direction. Everyone has to eat and if artists generate more income then the record companies, promoters, and anyone who works for the record. Any artist should want more fans. Not for popularity but for economical reasons. With more income, there’s more giving, and more families will be fed.

Business is Business

Yes it’s important to make sure that any business is generating income. There will be times when Executives and PR’s will have to sit in a room and ponder long and hard about coming up with creative ways to keep the company and artists afloat. Some may see artists and never consider how much work it takes to receive what they’ve received. Record sales on the penny. Meaning that artists receive pennies for each record sold and if the sales are down then they’re income will be down as well.

It’s important that companies come up with concepts that will help increase those sales and generate an increase in concert ticket sales. There needs to be aggressive marketing and promoting. Some artists aren’t receiving the “promotion” that’s deserved. It really doesn’t make sense for talented artists to not receive the record sales and promotion that’s necessary for the cost of living. Some artists are struggling and there’s no way that those things should be occurring, especially if they’ve been in the business for a long time, and if they’re filled with talent.

It’s Time

It’s time that the CEO’s and Producers start communicating with their artists and help brighten the record and the artists. Some artists have large families and with low record sales and decreases of people showing up to concerts, an artist will suffer tremendously, and that means so will their families. Business men and women will not only think about themselves but they’ll consider everyone that works for their company.

Trying something different isn’t a bad thing. Considering expanding on new ideas could help everyone involved. Consulting with marketers and those who are experienced in sales could help build a better brand. Bringing in those who are “creatively driven” could help a record company shine. Could also help those artists shine as well.

Sometimes Business owners become accustomed to the same old same old and have a difficult time changing. There’s some who are so use to being the boss that they’re unwilling to consider ideas from outsiders. If they’re concerned about their business and their people then they will consider whatever it takes to build a greater brand.

Change will and should occur. Of course it can be scary to change what we’re use to. If we want to keep an upbeat economy then we’ll have to go with the changes. Yes, there’s CEO’s who make big money but if they’re not careful the success could go like the wind, so they’ll have to continuously keep a business mindset. If the artists aren’t prospering then the CEO’s won’t prosper. Any good CEO will consider his or her people.

    • When it comes to mixing old school and new school, folks in the RAP music industry got ahead of us on that.

    • Change is the law of life. A water which is stagnant will never be appreciated as it will be harmful to health But the same water if cleaned regularly it will have the perennial appreciation of all
Hence, the CEO or a business executive of an organization should invite and stress more in inviting changes appropriate to the times. If not the dip will be more to the entire organization and the sufferers will be more.
Hence, it is the primary responsibility of the CEO or the Business Executive of an organization to consult and obtain the opinion of the Artists as to how best the change can be invited and how best the change is going to affect the life of the organization
It is here the success of a CEO of an Organization lies
