Breakfast Idea: Big Apple Donuts & Coffee

I love Sundays!

I always look forward to weekends as Sunday is my off day.

We usually wake each other up as early as 8am in the morning , wash up ,

 dress casually and head off to have a nice breakfast.

Sometimes we have McD breakfast sets, chicken wraps, muffins, 

pancakes with honey drizzle on top, burgers with hot tea or coffee.

Sometimes we have steamed buns also known as “Bao” which is in

 Chinese language. Bao means to wrap up meats into a ball.

Sometimes we have donuts, Big Apple Donuts which comes in vast variety 

of flavors and toppings.

This is our today’s breakfast, Big Apple Donuts & Coffee which we had 

ordered a takeaway at Tesco Hypermarket.

Initially, each icing glazed donut cost RM2.50 but after the GST tax had been implemented, it had increased to RM2.60, still affordable for most 

consumers.

 At one glance, these Big Apple Donuts were calling out” Come, eat me. Come, eat me !” 

These donuts are simply craving, tempting and delightful for my kids.

That desire to indulge those soft, chewy donuts, glazed with white icing all

 over them, sprinkle with assorted nuts, chocolate chips and chopped fruits,

 you just couldn’t take your eyes off them, not even a minute.

 We were all craving for them, couldn’t decide whether to buy 4, 6 or 12

 pieces. 

 We could save a few cents per donut if we buy in 12 pieces but we

 decided to go for 6 pieces of donuts instead.

 Too much sweet snack isn’t healthy either.

Brief history of Big Apple Donuts

Big Apple Donuts is one of the top companies that retails assorted donuts with hot or cold beverages in the world.

It also had its own Toll Free number for consumer to call for bulk orders.

Hence, the consumer will be advised to pick up the order as a specific time, 

at the nearest branch to the consumer’s house of office.

This will allow the Big Apple Donuts employees to have ample time for 

preparation and delivery to the branch outlet.

Big Apple Donuts was awarded for SME Recognition Award in 2008 and

 SME 1008 Award in 2009.

 The quality of the donuts produced had qualified the requirements of the

 SME, raising the production and branching out more outlets at majority

 shopping mall in Asia.

The first store was opened in Malaysia in 2007

Big Apple Donuts Variation

There were 20 of variety of donuts displayed on the counter top, each

 row with different toppings and alluring.

I told my son to choose his favorite toppings which was chocolates and 

chopped nuts while dad prefers nutty topping, I love kiwi icing and my 

daughter prefer almonds.

1 ) Kiwi donut- this is my favorite donut, white icing glaze with kiwi icing

 pattern on top

2)  Cheesey Donut- white icing glaze with shredded cheese sprinkle on

 top. Too much cheese stuck to the teeth!

3)  UFO Donut- lots of chocolate powder coated all over the donut with

 a delicious white vanilla cream stub in the middle and white stripes that

 shapes out an UFO

4)  Almond donut- this is my daughter’s favorite, white glaze icing with

 lots of chopped toasted almonds and a few sliced of them scattered on 

the surface.

5) Chocolate Donut- this is my son’s favorite, chocolate icing glaze over

 the donut, topped with chopped toasted nuts

6) Poop Donut- this is dad’s favorite. Glaze with white icing, scattered 

with chopped roasted ground nuts, thick chocolate icing stub in the

 middle which made the donut looked alike a dog poop!

We had a lovely time enjoying our quick breakfast with these delicious

, tasting donuts with tea milk at the food court.
