Bloggers and their Ethics

There are many sites including LiteracyBase where members write Blogs on many subjects. And that which is posted there becomes their property unless there are rules that takes away their right over those Blogs.

When it becomes the property of Bloggers the Blogs that they write should be original and not plagiarised or copy pasted.

The Bloggers that generally write at sites such as LiteracyBase are not professionals by any standard and so when they write about anything here it is imperative that they give a reference to the notes or links that they derived the information that gets produced in their Blogs.

Even Wikimedia does that. At the end of any link that they upload we see loads of references.

I have been reading Blogs on so many subjects written by so many Bloggers all over the Net as though they are an authority on the subject they talk about.

I read a Blog somewhere a Blogger writing about a haunted house that dates back to the eighteenth century. How on earth would that writer know about that haunated place unless that was picked up from some source on the Web or from a book picked up from a Library. What stops these Bloggers to give credit to those books or links where they pick up the information that they write a Blog on over which they later have the right as being their original contribution.

It’s time Sites make it a rule about Bloggers quoting references when what they produce in the Blogs is not their original contribution.

There are Blogs that could be called original contributions where Bloggers narrate their own practical experience be it the food they eat, the exercises they do or any courses they undertake and the benefits they derive from them.

It is for this reason alone Google ignores such Blogs and one will never find them on the front pages of Searches.
