Beyong the Classroom

What one learns in a classroom is not enough to get on in this world. The aptitude of a child is totally ignored. It is this aptitude that needs to be triggered converting it into a passion which will hold the child in good stead for their future. 

Today, there are enough outlets for a child to get exposed to knowledge.

While a syllabus that a child follows in a class will not touch their aptitude the parents could expose the child to outlets that will do that. 

Internet is a great source where parents can help the child in choosing whatever is needed for the child to develop in the direction that their aptitude takes them. 

Having said that even schools could change their thinking and look at teaching from a different angle. A child could be encouraged to pay attention to their aptitude that will strengthen the hands of patents further. 

We have heard so many stories of runaway kids. Kids that have found school boring as what they learn there never touched what they want to do in life. But this step made them successful in their life although at that point in time they gave endless anxiety to their parents and society at large.

What we read in that link is just a tip of the iceberg. There are scores that have done that and are successful in their life. 

One does not have to run away from school.Instead the powers that be should seriously think of creating situations for these kids who have no interest in school life.

After getting a grasp on the 3 R’s which can be achieved may be by the age of 10 or even less and this nowadays can be achieved sitting at home – thanks to the Internet  –  the child should be given an opportunity to further their dreams by establishing aptitude oriented schools. This way a child could find an atmosphere that does not brand them as the black sheep of society. 

Having said that there needs to be a paradigm shift in the thinking of  Organisations that only give importance to degrees and that too degrees obtained from colleges of repute. 

It is only when an aptitude gets wind that it can be converted to someting tangible that a child in thier life can make something out of it that provides them their bread and butter. 

There is no connection between jobs that are available in Orgnisations and the number of students who have degrees in various disciplines waiting to be employed. It is this scenario that is scary. The incumbents just take jobs that are available regardless of whether they have an aptitude to be there. And this jeopardises both the employer and the employee. 

There are Organisations though who consider giving jobs to those who show promise regardless of where they come from.  This approach should be encouraged and the powers that be could reward such Organisations.
