Beware of agents who provide domestic help

 Experience is the best teacher they say and I tend to believe that. My experience with agents that provide domestic help is the topic for this blog. 

I have never managed household chores without domestic help. Nowadays there is a dearth and whoever works for me leave me after they decide to get married and I support their cause and even help them financially. 

Having no other go I have sought the help of agents who provide domestic help. And from my experience I am sure they are taking me for a ride. They will hide a few things about the maid which get exposed once they start working. 

I will be assigned a maid after I have paid their commission. There is an agreement that I need to sign which clearly states that if I am not satisfied within the two months then I will get a replacement and no additional commission will be charged. 

Invariably they work well until the two months expire and then starts the trouble. They create hell but the agent calls up and says the maid is not happy because of………..the reasons are no existent.  Then comes the announcement. Sorry your time is up and if you want another maid you will have to pay another commission.

In the meantime there is activity at the agent’s end. The maid despite getting a lot of comfort will leave without a comment. And she is employed elsewhere. The agent gets another commission. 

I start thinking. Why should the maid who is really happy at her employer’s leave so willingly. I think I know the answer. The loot that the  agent gets a second or even many more times is shared with the maids. This is a hunch and this time I am convinced my hunch is right I just managed to get a maid which my old maid who did not come through any agents recommended to me.  I am happy.

.  Beware of agents who provide domestic servants. They are frauds.
