Knowing a lot of things specially at home like fixing a lot of things that need attention can save a lot of money and effort.
An example is when a hydraulic screen door closer at home did not work well; it does not close automatically, or it closes in a quick bang! making a very loud noise. It can disturb someone sleeping, or neighbors can get irritated with it. If it does not close at once, insects like mosquitoes are likely to enter the house, making you feel uncomfortable and might be infected with dengue virus.
So the best solution is to have it fixed. Just be patient in getting to know it’s mechanism, and try to repair it. It is does not have to be replaced since it can be repaired, the vacuum-like controller or the hydraulic door closer.
Knowing how to repair it will save a lot money from paying a repairman or from buying the new hydraulic door closer.
Sometimes a hydraulic door closer in one room can be interchanged with that of another door; like what I did. The one at the kitchen did not work well, it closes so quickly with a bang, so I interchanged it with the hydraulic door closer at the laundry area. I thought I need a screwdriver to remove it, but I noticed the screw or the peg does not have a groove to place the screwdriver tip. I just pushed it upward using a set of pliers, and off it went so easily.
I was able to interchange the two hydraulic door closers, and they performed so well. When husband came home, I notified him that I repaired the screen door closer, and he was amazed and asked what I had done. I said I just interchanged the two door closers and they worked well!
It is really good to be a handyman/handyjane (for females); and you can be so happy knowing you had accomplished something that saved you some money for repairs, and from being annoyed!

I agree, being handyman or so is great help and fast help the house and also saves lots fo money. i mean not in everything maybe but really lots of things you do save mone and time as athe same time. somethings you can fix it only looking at it and learn few tips here an there and the net is always there to help
