Most of the Russian squad has been banned from Rio Olympics based on their involvement in doping incidents barring few teams with special permission. The Russian government called it a conspiracy but International sports authority has not allowed athletes.
Russia has been one of the top most sporting countries in the world for a long time and were only second to the United States of America in the last Olympics held despite the fact that Russia has been divided in to 15 full-fledged countries now namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia (see Kyrgyzstan), Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Each of these countries participates as an independent country and still stands respectfully in the medals tally. The report of World Anti-doping agency (WADA) says that Russian athletes have been using restricted drugs for boosting their strength. The WADA official have accused that Russian athletes were using these drugs in the full knowledge of coaches and sports officials.
According to WADA officials the Russian athletes were fully supported by government and its secret agency as they were involved in replacing the urine samples of athletes. The International athletics federation had banned the Russian team in the last November itself but the final decision came only recently.
Let’s see if the Russians get any relief as the final decision has to be taken by Olympics’ Executive Committee and its president. However, what happened recently with the Russian athletics team is not only painful but shameful too.
It’s not that all athletes from all other countries are absolutely clean or all athletes from Russia are taking drugs but only the Russian athletes have faced the ban by Olympics’ management so far which is bit disturbing because in my views the issues should be tackled on case level or maybe it is my personal concern being an ex resident of Russia.

Its quite unfortunate.
It is surprising that after so many years, only Russians are held guilty
Russians have not raised the issue for time being although they must be feeling too bad and shamed right now.
This is a quite surprising and unfortunate incident. Russians have been ruling the sports world for quite some time.
