Australia beat Sri Lanka in 7th ODI of series,2011

Australia was scheduled to play a 7 Match ONE DAY International Series in Sri Lanka in 2011. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series and who will be crowned as the winner after the series. The 7th ONE DAY international match was to be played on R A Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka on 24^th Aug 2011. Sri Lanka already won the T 20 Int. series 3-0.

Australia batted very well and was able to post total of 320 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 8 wickets and with top scores of D Hussey who made 80 runs in 40 balls with 6 4’s and 4 six at the strike rate of 200 runs in 100 balls and D Warner who made 70 runs in 50 balls with 7 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 140 runs in 100 balls.

Sri Lanka was needed to score 321 runs in 50 over’s to win this match.

Sri Lanka batted very well but was unable to chase the score of 321 runs and was only able to make 280 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 8 wickets and lost the game by 40 runs and top scores by Dinesh C who made 90 runs in 50 balls with 10 4’s and 5 six at the strike rate of 180 runs in 100 balls.

Australia won the match by 40 runs and now this 7 Match ONE DAY international series ends at 5-2 in favor of Australia.
