Auroville (City of Dawn) is an experimental township in Tamil Naru, India

Auroville is an amazing place. It is an experimental township of international community. Here people from all over the world come to live in pease. In the centre of the town is the Matrimandir a huge gold shere accompanied by ramps. It even has its own solar power plant and inside is a spiral ramp that leads to a marble room where you can find consciousness. Pristine beautiful gardens and a peacefulness you won not find in many other places, in my opinion  this is one of the most interesting places to visit in India.

Auroville (City of Dawn) is an experimental township in Viluppuram district in Tamil Naru, India. Auroville wants to be a universal Town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive hermony. The purpose of Auroville is to a realize human unity.

In the middle of the town is the Mantrimandir, which was conceived by Alfassa as “a symbol of the Divine’s answer to man’s aspiration for perfection”. Silence is maintained inside the Matrimandir to ensure the tranquility of the space and entire area surrounding the Matrimandir is called Peace area.

Auroville nelongs to nobody in particular. Auroville belongs to humanity as a whole. But to live in Auroville one must be the willing servitor of the Divine Consciousness. Auroville will be the place if an unending education. Auroville wants to be the bridge between the past and the future. Auroville will be a site of materials and spiritual researches for a living embodiment of an actual Human Unity.

In the middle of the town is the Matrimandir. The Auroville foundation headed by a chairman is an autonomus body under the ministry of Human Reasource Development. There is also a Secretary to the foundation, appointed by the Govt.and has and office with supporting staff in Auroville. The remaining lands are being purchased whenever funds are available.
