Attitude of cancer patients determines the effectiveness of the treatment

When you have two patient cancers of the same gender in the same age group suffering from the same cancer, and are in the same stage of cancer, you would expect the recovery to be identical.

The fact is that sometimes a stage 4 cancer patient can recover, while a stage 2 cancer patient does not even live for a year.

The treatment method is identical for the cancer patients in the same stage and same kind of cancer.  But the recovery is not the same.

This shows that sometimes the attitude of cancer patients determine the effectiveness of the treatment.

When a person has strong belief that he will get well, he is more likely to get well.  He is likely to take very good care of his health, and he will eat good food, and exercise.

There are some people who are so positive that they often forget that they have a terminal illness.  They just live life to the fullest, and enjoy all the big and small moments in life.

These are the optimistic ones whose belief that they are healthy lead to good health.

For those who always believe in the worst, and have no faith in the cancer treatment, they will see their negativity translates into a full bloom of cancer cells.

They will see a rapid deterioration of early stage cancer to late stage cancer.

In the end, the doctors will stop all treatments.  They will switch to palliative care to make the patient prepare for death in dignity, and use painkiller to dull the pain.

Many forms of cancer have high recovery rate, and that depends partly on our attitude.

Most cancer patients suffer the first diagnosis of cancer, but they may not survive the relapse of cancer.  Many cancer patients are cancer-free and live to ripe, old age.

    • Even doctors will tell cancer patients about how a positive attitude can help cure them. When my mother had breast cancer she was told to keep positive people around her, and to be optimistic about her cure. She had a very fast-growing tumour, but more than 20 years later she is still well!

      • Wow, your mother sure can share her experience with all other cancer patients.
Too bad 20 years ago, blogging does not exist, so she cannot create a blog to update her progress day by day.
