At last England Tasted Victory in the 5th ODI

As England lost in the First, Second, third and 4th One day international Match so they have already lost this series but they need to win this 5th One day international match So that they can have some pride. This 5th One day International Match was played on Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur, India. This game was played on 12th April, 2006.

India won the toss and opts to bat first, so therefore England will be bowl first.

India Started poorly and lost their half side and 5 wickets on only 79 runs in 15.3 over’s in the form of Virender Sehwag, Mohammed kaif, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Venugopal Rao.Then India got the support of Indian wicket keeper Batsman MS Dhoni and Ramesh Powar who played a good hand where MS Dhoni scored 96 runs in 106 balls with 10 4’s and 3 sixes at the strike rate of 91 and Ramesh Powar scored 54 runs in 83 balls with 4 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 65 runs in 100 balls. India ends the innings with 223 runs and were bowled out in 48 over’s with still 12 more balls and 2 over’s to spare.

England need to get 224 runs in 50 over’s to get their 1st victory in the ODI series.

England batted very well for a change in this series and the opening partnership was in excess of 100 runs and they played like that and The skipper in this match Andrew Strauss top scored with 74 runs in 65 balls with 10 4’s and strike arte of 87 runs in 100 balls. England reached the target in 42.4 over’s with still 44 balls remaining in the 50 overs. Andrew Strauss was the Man of the match for his fine knock and he played like a true champion in this match. This victory though does not matter much in the series but it will surely give English players some confidence and this means the series now stands at 4-1 with 2 more games to play.
