– The writer should  know the various sources where the articles could be published. Most of these sources are freely available. The search engine will provide the information a writer is looking for.

 – Shortlisting clients will depend on the type of articles a writer is adept at. But most of these sites that are looking for writers have their needs widespread.

– The writer,  however, needs to study in minute detail the requirements of these sites individually,  as some sites for example will pay if one gets visitors to the article. Getting visitors to the article needs a lot of effort in that the writer in the first place needs to have a blog wherein an  advertisement  announcing the work done could serve the purpose. 

– Listing in Search Engines is another way to attract those who could be interested in purchasing the articles. There is heavy competition in this line and one needs to have infinite patience before a firm footing in this area could be established. The articles should be well written without any grammatical or spelling error. A poorly written article will only  find a place in the trash can. 

– The writer should also create a very attractive profile stating educational qualifications, list of articles so far published which have been purchased if at all. This will place the writer in an advantageous position and the client would take time to consider going through the articles submitted.

– Plagiarism is a serious issue which a writer needs to know before starting on their writing journey.

– Last but not the least there is the question of pricing. For a beginner it would be better if it starts with a small amount and as confidence develops and there is enough publicity the writer could fetch good amounts for the articles written.
