Afghanistan Beaten by Zimbabwe in 3rd ODI of series,2015

Zimbabwe and Afghanistan were scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in United Arab Emirates in 2015-16. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series. The 3rd ONE DAY international match was to be played on Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates on 2nd Jan, 2016. Afghanistan leads the series 2-0.

Zimbabwe batted well and was able to post total of 175 runs in 48.3 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and with top scores of Hamilton M who made 83 runs in 138 balls with 6 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 60 runs in 100 balls and G Cremer who made 58 runs in 75 balls with 3 4’s and 3 six at the strike rate of 77 runs in 100 balls.

Afghanistan was needed to score 176 runs in 50 over’s to win this match and to take lead and won this series of 5 One Day international Matches 3-0.

Afghanistan batted very very poorly and was unable to chase the total of 176 runs and was bowled out for only 58 runs in 16.1 over’s and  top scored by M Shahzad who made 31 runs in 22 balls with 4 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 141 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe won the match by 117 runs and series now stands at 2-1 with still 2 more games to play in this series.
