Afghanistan Beat Zimbabwe in 2nd ODI of series,2016

Afghanistan was scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in Zimbabwe in 2016. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series. The 2nd ONE DAY international match was to be played on Harare Sports Club, Harare, Zimbabwe on 19th Feb 2016.

Afghanistan won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how Zimbabwe team and 11 was looking like in this 2nd ONE DAY international match: Graeme Cremer (c), Chris Mpofu, Malcolm Waller, Craig Ervine, Tendai Chatara, Ryan Burl, Sikandar Raza, Solomon Mire, Tarisai Musakanda, Peter Moor (wk), Richard Ngarava

Afghanistan batted very well and was able to post total of 238 runs in 50 over’s at the loss of 9 wickets and with top scores of R Shah who made 53 runs in 66 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 80 runs in 100 balls and M Shahzad who made 64 runs in 87 balls with 6 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 74 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe was needed to score 239 runs in 50 over’s to win this match and to level this 5 ONE DAY match International series 1-1.

Zimbabwe batted well but was unable to chase the total of 239 runs and was only able to make 184 runs in 42.1 over’s at the loss of 10 wickets and top scores by  S Mire who made 54 runs in 55 balls with 7 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 98 runs in 100 balls.

Afghanistan won the match by 54 runs and takes leads in this 5 match ODI series 2-0 with 3 more games still to play.
