Afghanistan Beat Zimbabwe in 1st ODI of series,2015

Zimbabwe and Afghanistan were scheduled to play a 5 Match ONE DAY International Series in United Arab Emirates in 2015. Both teams have great players and all rounder’s and match winners and it would be interesting to see them battle in this series. The 1st ONE DAY international match was to be played on Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates on 25th Dec, 2015.

Afghanistan won the toss and opts to bat first; this is how Zimbabwe team and 11 was looking like in this 1st ONE DAY international Match: Elton Chigumbura (c), Graeme Cremer, Chamu Chibhabha, Taurai Muzarabani, Malcolm Waller, Craig Ervine, Luke Jongwe, Wellington Masakadza, Richmond Mutumbami (wk), Sikandar Raza, Peter Moor

 

And Afghanistan team and 11 was looking like this in this 1st ONE DAY international Match: Asghar Stanikzai (c), Mohammad Nabi, Nawroz Mangal, Noor Ali Zadran, Samiullah Shenwari, Mirwais Ashraf, Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Dawlat Zadran, Amir Hamza, Najibullah Zadran, Yamin Ahmadzai

Afghanistan batted poorly and was able to post total of only 131 runs in 38.5 over’s and was bowled out with top scores of N A Zadran who made 63 runs in 82 balls with 8 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 77 runs in 100 balls and M Nabi who made 17 runs in 18 balls with 2 4’s and 1 six at the strike rate of 94 runs in 100 balls.

Zimbabwe was needed to score 132 runs in 50 over’s to win this match and to take lead in this series of 5 One Day international Matches 1-0.

Zimbabwe batted very poorly and was bowled out for total of 82 runs in 30.5 over’s and  top scored by Skipper Elton C who made 28 runs in 41 balls with 3 4’s and 0 six at the strike rate of 68 runs in 100 balls.

Afghanistan won the match by 49 run and leads the series 1-0 with still 4 more games to play in this series.
